Evernight by Claudia Gray

The Evernight series is 4 books by Claudia Gray published by Harper Collins.

When the story begins in Evernight, Bianca has just left the small town where she's spent her whole life. She's a new student at Evernight Academy, a creepily Gothic boarding school where her classmates are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn't fit in.

Then she meets Lucas, another loner, who seems fiercely determined not to be the "Evernight type." There's a connection between Bianca and Lucas that can't be denied. She would risk anything to be with him—but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart... and to make Bianca question everything she's ever believed to be true.

What I Can Tell You: As I started the book, I wasn't sure I was going to like it. Another awkward girl, another school, popular kids, blah, blah, blah...it has all been done before.  It wasn't until half way through the book that I thought, you know what...I like it. I can't wait for the second book which I hope to add to my birthday wish list. No one is what they seem. Not to give too much away; Bianca bites Lucas and everything turns topsy turvey. Very interesting premise! Not like anything else out there.

The book is an easy read, the plot twist was sort of sloppy and forced me to flip back to see if I missed clues. But other than that, the ending makes me want to see what will happen next.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of Evernight from Harper Collins Publishers for my honest opinion.
