Carpool Karaoke Game - The Board Game Inspired by The Late Late Show with James Corden’s - Video Review

  The 411:
As a huge fan of James and Carpool Karaoke I couldn't wait to see how they put together a game based off the musical segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden. The game comes with a "dashboard" for spinning and keeping score for the teams playing the game. You compete as a team separated by a city New York, Los Angeles, Sydney and London. . The first team to reach 20 points first is the winner. You receive points based on the sections of the challenge cards.
Upon spinning players go head to head with the other team based on what category they get on their spin. Sing it, Work It, Guess It and Rock It. Get Sing It and you perform a song in a style listed on the card. Work It you will incorporate the dance listed on the card. Rock it, everyone sings and Guess It is a multiple choice trivia question with the least amount of points. After your performance you are voted on by the judges (the other teams). There are also tokens that if used ask players to share their performances on social media with the hashtag #carpoolkaraokegame.
Fun for a group of friends or family.

National Coffee Day Is Every Day In My House #STEEPED

STAY ALERT COFFEE LOVERS, SOMETHING BIG IS BREWING WITHIN SINGLE-SERVE COFFEE
WEST COAST STARTUP SOLVES THE SINGLE-SERVE COFFEE CRISIS
TO DELIVER QUALITY WITHOUT COMPROMISE

The Award-Winning Steeped Coffee full immersion brew method means no machines, no waste, guilt-free packaging, and amazing taste; Compostable Bags Deliver Gourmet Taste That's Good To Environment

The 411:
Hey if you are like me every day is National Coffee Day which is officially September 29th. I was so happy to try Steeped a single serve freshly ground specialty coffee that can be made anywhere you can get hold of hot water.  This is perfect for anytime and hikers and campers will love the ability to toss a "tea bag" size good cup of coffee in their backpack.  My husband and I are huge coffee drinkers and loved trying Steeped.

Here is the press release:
Step aside, coffee pods. Take a rest, instant coffee. There’s finally a single-serve option available in the world of high-end coffee, and it’s quickly becoming a game changer.
Santa Cruz-based startup Steeped, Inc., one of the most promising and innovative companies in the industry, has launched its revolutionary Steeped Coffee brewing method to serious coffee drinkers across the nation. Brewed similar to tea, Steeped Coffee’s nitro sealed Steeped Bags, along with their guilt-free packaging made using renewable and compostable materials, achieve the unthinkable: freshly ground specialty coffee in a single-serving. That’s why it earned the “Best New Product” award for their innovative packaging at the recent Specialty Coffee Expo. And, it’s barista-approved!

Steeped Coffee launched when serial entrepreneur and coffee lover Josh Wilbur decided to combine the convenience of a single-serving brew method with the premium quality of ethically sourced coffee. Wilbur wanted to redeem the environmental dilemma created by wasteful coffee pods. Happy to do the math, Wilbur points out over 10 billion unrecyclable pods accumulate in landfills each year – enough to wrap around the earth more than 110 times if placed side-by-side. Moreover, each type of pod depends on expensive and often moldy brewing machines, which are also unrecyclable.
It took Wilbur seven years to innovate the proprietary Steeped Coffee system that delivers fresh roasted, pre-portioned, precision ground, micro batched coffee in customized Full Immersion Filters. “Premium coffee roasters have shied away from offering their specialty beans in single-serve packaging because it’s been nearly impossible to keep ground coffee fresh, which quickly ruins the taste,” said Wilbur. “With our Nitro Sealed bags, oxygen is replaced with nitrogen, so the coffee stays fresh as if it was ground moments ago.”
“Steeped Packs are the easiest way to make a delicious cup of coffee,” Wilbur Says. “You shouldn't need to perform chemistry before you’ve made your coffee.” Simply steep each Steeped Bag in hot water for about five minutes to allow the coffee to develop its distinctive body and flavor. There is no machine, no noise, no cleanup, no destructive waste.

As for flavor? Even the most discerning coffee connoisseurs in the industry are singing the praises of Steeped Coffee. Barista Magazine is a believer: “Like a tea bag—but for coffee? This new product from Steeped Coffee might just be one of our fave new ways to brew coffee on the road.”

“Finding Steeped has changed my coffee drinking life,” raved one reviewer on Producthunt.com. “It's my favorite new brewing method and I can't believe more people haven't heard of this yet. It is going to be huge.”

Entrepreneur’s Handbook concurs: “You’re likely going to see the Steeped Coffee methodology in hospitals, offices, hotels — places where single-serve coffee reigns — and perhaps on your next flight.

Features of Steeped Coffee include:
  • 100% Specialty Coffee: quality coffee ethically sourced directly from farmers
  • Nitro Sealed: removes oxygen, stopping the clock on freshly ground beans
  • Ultrasonic Edges: no glue, staples, or wasted materials for max steeping
  • Full Immersion Filter: non-GMO filters that regulate ideal water-in and maximum flavor-out
  • Guilt-Free Packaging: made using plant-based renewable and compostable materials
  • Micro Batching: roasted locally in small batches
  • Precision Ground: consistent water-cooled grinding to the micron
  • Pre-Portioned: consistent SCA recommended water-to-coffee ratios
  • Just Add Water: single-serve convenience with no machines required
  • Barista Approved: tested by multiple independent specialty coffee Q-graders for freshness, quality, and taste

With so many coffee gadgets, machines, and accessories flooding the market these days, this simple unplugged Steeped Coffee brewing method might be just what you're looking for to take your moment, while at home, at work, or on-the-go.

My review:

I am not a fan of instant coffee. I always find it too weak and honestly a total let down. It is often bitter and as my Grandma who was the original coffee lover of the family would say, "taste like dish water."

I am a little more open to trying things than my husband but he loves coffee even more than me and he was on board to try though his expectations were low. Shockingly enough he felt it was hotter than when we make a 12 cup pot of coffee in the morning and he took the rest of the box to work. So I guess that says something but now I need to order myself a box for work. I was hoping to take it with me. We have a Keurig at work that makes a cup at a time and honestly I don't have time to leave the classroom and wait for the opportunity to use the machine so I will be boiling some water in the morning and at lunch so I can have fresh coffee with me every day.

What I think I like most is that I can toss a bag into hot water anytime I want. Wish I had it with me today because you know that feeling when you smell coffee you want it. Well I had this situation today. I walked through the conference room and someone was making some but I was running through. Ugh...I remember thinking "If only I had my Steeped!"

Another reason for loving Steeped is that I don't have to come up with another craft using K-Cups. I hate that I throw out about 40 K-Cups a month that is not good! This is all compostable material. We just add it to our compost. My garbage man is going to feel the difference I am sure.

Think of the possibilities!

Office
Camping
Backpacking
Overnights
Hotels (have you ever made coffee in one of those coffee machines in your hotel room? This is so much better!)

Get Ready For Sweater Weather With A Hot Cocoa

Are you guys ready? This is the last weekend of summer and my daughter has already started pulling our sweaters out of storage bins. We love sweater weather and everything that comes with the chiller temps like hay rides, pumpkin patches, bonfires, S'mores, Halloween, the changing leaves and hot cocoa.  We have been drinking our Charleston Chew Vanilla Hot Cocoa which is still in giveaway mode here but this morning with temps being in the 40s when we woke we cracked open the Charleston Chew Chocolate K-Cups. We were very pleased with the chocolatey goodness and cannot wait to share this with friends. We are even thinking about doing an Adult Trick or Treat bin next to the kids candy bowl with Charleston Chew Vanilla and Chocolate K-Cups for the parents who come up to our door.

If you don't know what Charleston Chews are I can fill you in. Back in the day these were larger than most candy bars that were a type of marshmallow nougat inside with a chocolate coating outside. I never had a chocolate marshmallow inside but I would have definitely chose those as a child over vanilla. I mean...hello...you can't go wrong with more chocolate am I right?! In the summer my family would put our Charleston Chews in the freezer. I think we had seen it in a commercial or something. I remember it wasn't easy to bite through and I always thought I was going to chip a tooth.
Couldn't find a commercial about freezing our Charleston's but I found this one that I remember.

Lost Never Fails To Leave Me Wanting More

Lost Never Fails To Leave Me Wanting More

I am still reeling from last night’s 2 hour season finale.
So many twists, storyline reveals, and more mystery.
My dad and I called each other during commercials to dish and my sister and I spent an hour summarizing what we got from the finale and what we think will happen next season.
This season, flash backs have shown us that Jack, Kate, baby Aaron, Syid, Sun and Hurley all escape the island but now we know that more escaped and 1 in particular sacrificed his ride to freedom to save Kate, Jack and Hurley.
If you TIVO’d and haven’t watched it yet, I suggest you watch and then re-watch. There was so much going on.
Sawyer’s leap before whispering to Kate (btw..I had just told my dad that Sawyer was on the helicopter but I wasn’t sure why he got off “maybe to let Sun on.”) still makes me weep. Whhhhhhyyyyyy Sawyer. Whhhhhyyyyy.
I would love to know what he whispered to her. If we are following along we know that she had to do something for him when she got back but what?

When she asked “why are you telling me this?” I knew he was jumping. Grrrr…and on another note what happened to his shirt? Not that I oppose a wet, shirtless Josh Holloway but did it get eaten by a shark? He didn’t lose it while jumping in because he had it on when he came up. Anyway no biggie, wet, topless Sawyer will do any day…I digress.

Here are my questions:
So why did Jin not dive into the water when he knew the boat was about to explode?
Why did we not see a helicopter or a boat on the water when Juliet and Sawyer looked over to the now smoking freighter?
How did Locke become to be the dead guy? What made him come back if he was the “guy” in charge. Is it even Locke??????
Other than Kate being a “piece of ass” what is her role on the island and why is she so damn important?
Why is Syid working for Ben?
WHO ARE THE HIDING THE ISLAND FROM?
Why did Desmond, red haired girl, and paranormal guy chose not to go back?
Why are they lying? I still don’t get it. John asked Jack to lie but Jack never listened to him before so why now? Why trust him and Ben now, after everything else? Why trust them with the lives of people who WERE trying to get to that freighter? Who made them God?
Why were there so many shots of Penny holding baby Aaron?

Why did Syid take Hurley to someplace “safe”?
Why does Jack and Claire’s father always seem to be around? I understand him showing himself to Jack and Claire but why was he there before the bomb went off? Why did he tell Michael, “you can go now!” Kabloom!!

My OMG moments:
Sawyer jumping out of the helicopter into the ocean to save his buds.

Claire’s haunting visit in Kate’s dream “Don’t you dare bring him back!”

The phone call Kate receives during her dream sequence where the garbled message if listened to backwards says, “the island needs you. Go back before it is too late.” Too late for what??????
Locke being in the casket. How and why did he come back?

Sun screaming in the helicopter after watching the freighter blow up with Jin on it.

Sun (all decked out like a secret agent) growing a huge set of balls while on the island and sticking it to her father and then her meeting to set up a meeting with Whidmore.
Syid working for Ben (just killing a la vigilante style).
God damn Walt got big.

The Octagon Global Recruitment commercial that aired during the finale. WTF?Ben making the island disappear (or travel 10 months into the future which is the time travel Ben does during his Casimir Effect that brings him to the Sahara Desert)after walking through some blown out hole and entering a frozen, snow covered, what the hell was it, room. What the hell did he steer? Was that the wheel of a ship? When he walked through that rabbit hole and entered the frozen area, I felt like I was watching Logan’s Run. (anyone ever see that movie?)
So, what we know for next season:
Sawyer, Juliet, and a bunch of others are on the island.
Jack has to get the rest of them to go back to the island.
Ok, now I am off to watch the alternate endings. Ta
Oh as for the kiss….whatever. It was semi hot. Where was the tongue damn it?

Back To The Roots Kitchen Herb Garden #GIVEAWAY Ends 10/15

Back to the Roots, the organic food and indoor gardening company, is reconnecting kids and families back to the food they eat. Through indoor gardening and windowsill grow kits, kids across the US now know that herbs and veggies don’t come from the grocery store… they come from the EARTH!

Back to the Roots is changing classrooms across the US with its indoor gardening kits and STEM curriculum and will soon hit its goal to grow 1 MILLION indoor gardens in kitchens and classrooms in the country this year

Top sellers include:
·       The Water Garden 2.0
·       Organic Lavender
·       Cherry Tomatoes

The 411:

What I love is that everything you need is included in the package. I have done smaller type gardens and they usually come with dirt disks for packaging. You add water to these small disks and you get a soil of some sort. BTW they never grew.  These came with the dirt already in the jars. I am already thinking this is going to work just because I didn't have to work the dirt.

The kit also came with two packets of seeds, labels for your jars, directions and a recipe book. It told my class today that I will be bringing in special jars of dirt for our classroom garden. I think they will get plenty of sun in my room. My preschool class is excited to watch the garden grow.  Praying for the best but I will NOT be sharing my basil. They can each try it but I am taking it home. They can however have the mint leaves. Maybe we can do something with them for Christmas crafts to make them smell good.

Back To The Roots has so many options to choose from. With Autumn coming I am thinking of getting my family the cherry tomato windowsill planter AND because I am going to miss my garden flowers the Organic Lavender windowsill planter. Check out their other windowsill planters here.

Supergirl Season 4 - WORTH THE BINGE

GUYS...I had not seen Supergirl before getting Season 4 to review. While I have NOT yet binged up to Season 4. I watched all of Season 1 this weekend. It was amazing and I do NOT know why I had been watching this all along.

The show focus on Kara or Khara as her boss calls her. She is the cousin of Superman and was sent right after him to protect him. One problem, her pod or whatever you call her flying apparatus went off course and she slept for 24 years. When she finally found him he was grown and placed her with a foster family.

OK that is the foundation. Kara is now grown up and working for a paper. Her boss played by Calista Flockhart wants her own superhero to be featured on her newspaper and has no idea that her assistant is a superhero.

Her "foster sister" Alex works for The Department of Extra Normal Operations and knows exactly who Kara has always been. She has wanted to protect her from the aliens from a prison Fort Rozz that was run by Alura, Kara's mom.

I  love the show so far. I love watching Kara learn her skills. Love the sister relationship. Love the friendship she has with James and Winn and I love the over the top theatrics of some of the fight scenes but that is what makes it so much fun. I can't wait to get into Season 2.   Hoping for more collaboration of Supergirl and Superman.
