Camera Critters - Seagulls

Camera Critters

My daughter and I headed out last Sunday while the boys were watching football to feed the birds some of our almost stale bread.

We figured we would be feeding the Geese that frequent the lake but we were excited to get a ton of seagulls. They were stunning against the cloudless sky.

  2. WOWSER!
That first one is so crisp I can almost feel him cramping his butt to poop on me.... LOL The second shot is darker and makes me feel like the prey.

  8. I don't see a ton of seagulls, but I do see some nearly everyday. You wouldn't think so either as I don't live in a state with a sea at all. Yet, not too far from my home their is a man-made reservoir and that's where they like to get their food supply. However, most of them don't build their nests anywhere near the reservoir, most of the nests are way in town on the mall rooftop, leaves, and trees in the mall parking lot. I kid you not. I think because it can get very cold here in the winter they wised up and built where they get some heat from the building's roof outlets and the car engines in the parking lots.

  10. Ladyfi, Thank you so very much. I was impressed too. Couldn't see much through the viewfinder, the sun was too strong. Glad they came out as good as they did.

Freda, LOL, you would go there, wouldn't you. That's my girl. Yes, that was my biggest fear. I kept asking Goddess to throw the bread past us and not over us.

Poetic, Thank you. Amazed they came out so great.

Kay, That was why I tossed these up instead of the 50 others from that day. The sunlight looks incredible on their feathers.

Eileen, Thanks. We figured geese and were surprised about the amount of gulls we had.

    Chubskulit, I will visit soon.

Oskar, Thanks. The birds look beautiful while flying and quite average when standing.

Ifhpueblo, Really? This is just a lake so I was surprised that we had more to see than just some dirty geese.

Clary, Doesn't even look like our little town does it?

  11. Terrific shots! We have lots of seagulls near our lake but I've never been able to get photos of them. You've encouraged me to keep trying!
