The Wedding Chapel - Review & Giveaway

The Wedding Chapel

Wedding bells ring when The Wedding Chapel arrives on DVD July 23 from Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment and Nasser Entertainment. Shelley Long (“Modern Family,” “Cheers”), Mark Deklin (Tarzan - 2013, Riverworld) and Emmanuelle Vaugier (Deception – 2013, “Two and a Half Men”) star in the heartwarming story about falling in love, forgiving and embracing new beginnings.  When an uninspired and newly single painter flees from her problems, she rediscovers the meaning of life when she immerses herself in the community’s effort to save the local wedding chapel.

Sara, a single painter who is down on her luck, decides to take a break from her mundane life and visit her mom, in hopes of finding some inspiration.  During her visit, she becomes involved in a mission to conserve the local church, which is in danger of being forced to shut down.  Determined to help preserve the historic building, Sara embarks on a journey that not only gives her a new outlook on life and allows her to forget her problems, but also enables her mother to rekindle a long lost love from her past.

The Movie Trailer

The 411 by Maria:

I do love me some sappy love stories and have been a fan of many of the Dove Family Approved movies. What I loved about this movie had very little to do with the main character Sarah. Sarah is an artist who has lost her passion. She is empty, over worked and newly single after her flower carrying boyfriend breaks up with her during an art exhibit.  She heads back home to her "hippy, eccentric" mom played by Shelly Long.  When she finds out that her grandma's house along with many other buildings especially the church in the area are being sold. Suddenly she has a mission and works with a lawyer and the priest to find out of the church has a historic past that will save it from demolition.

Shelley Long as Rita is great. We get to see Shelly now who lost her husband 5 years before and Rita in high school who lost her boyfriend in the war.  Rita and Shelley made this worth watching for me. Watching the past become the future inside this sweet hometown story is definitely worth a watch.
