Alice Hoffman, New York Times bestselling author —  “Deb Newmyer knows all the tricks for reclaiming your life. If you're a mother, you have valuable skills. The author helps you put them in motion!”

Jewel, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter — “Being a single working mom is the hardest job I ever had. Being a single working mom of four seems ridiculous, but somehow Deb does just that and lives to tell her tales.”

Kathleen Kennedy, Hollywood film producer — “Deb has essentially written the book Lean Back In—an appealing and indispensable manual for any woman who wants to re-enter the working world.”

Alexandra Wentworth, actress and comedian — “This might be the hormones talking, but I have found that work has made me a better wife and mother. I can now load the laundry while simultaneously leading a twenty-person conference call. Multitasking is my most powerful muscle source (way stronger than my brain and vagina!), so don’t waste yours!"

Moms for Hire (Skyhorse Publishing, January 2017) is a stylish, eight-step guidebook for moms who want to kick their careers back into gear and amp up their professional mojo.

41% of moms choose to stay at home for significant amounts of time after having children and for many moms this is the most rewarding and important work of their lives. But what happens when kids are older, need less attention, and mom decides to go back to work?

Whether she downsized her bustling career to raise children or she chose the full-time job of being a stay-at-home mom, re-entry to the workforce can be intimidating. Using creative exercises, advice, and anecdotes from well-known working moms, Moms for Hire will become the go-to guide for moms looking for a successful re-entry strategy.

The search for fulfilling employment requires plenty of will, stamina, and support; Moms for Hire will be a devoted partner to any mom as she steps into this new, life-changing adventure.

The 411:

This book came at the perfect time for me. My kids are getting older and at 50 my shelf life for a new career isn't looking that bright but I still have some life left in this skin so I appreciate the steps Deborah talks about that will hopefully help me jump start my career.

The book is laid out in 8 easy to follow steps such as first getting a handle on your now mommy busy life.

Step One: Activate your Mom For Hire Switch
Step Two: Get Organized and Find Your Network
Step Three: Declutter Yourself
Step Four: Motherhood's Made You Better
Step Five: Be The Ideal Candidate
Step Six:Getting To The Interview
Step Seven: While You Are Waiting
Step Eight: You're Hired! Now What!?

It was interesting to sit down and fill out the charts to see where my time is being wasted.  I get up about 4:45 or earlier every day except the weekend where I sleep until about 7:00 all I want to do is head to the couch. Usually it isn't for good until 9 when the kids are in bed. Laundry, showers, clothes out for the next day, cleaning the kitchen all happen between 7-8 however I am currently off Tuesdays and Thursdays unless called in so I am planning on making those the days I sit down and hammer out the plan Deborah sets forth in this book.

I am completely confident that after finishing all the steps I will reclaim my life and either manage my time better, look for another career or at least know the path I am going to take.

My favorite section was the Expert List Circling Exercise. I had no idea I was so proficient in so many things.
