Does this happen to anyone else?
Since my son was born 5 1/2 years ago, my husband and I have gone out together 3 times.
The first - A neighbor's kid's engagement party (my son was about 9 months old).
The second time - We went to a wake (in August).
The third time - Was Saturday when we went out for our 11th Anniversary.
It started out ok. I was confident in our babysitter (my 18 year old niece). We headed to Outback for lunch. The Teach hated it. He said it smelled like "old people." Then we went to Toys R Us and did our first Christmas shop for our children together. After that we headed to Best Buy and Linens and Things. I suggested Border's because it is something we both enjoy but he said "that sounds boring."
After Linens and Things he said, "what do you want to do?" I said, we're right here, why don't we see what is playing at the movies?"
He started driving and when he drove around the mall I asked, "where are we going?" He said, to get gas.
I figured we would get back to the mall. We had an late lunch/early dinner and figured we could have dessert somewhere. After getting gas he started driving away from the mall. So, I again said, "where are we going?" He said, home!
I was shocked and quiet which is my biggest problem and always has been. Another women might have said, "why? We have Manda, let's go to the movies, or let's get drinks, or let's do something." But, I sat quietly wondering and he drove home.
Strange!
We, like most couples have our ebbs and flows in our relationship and we have been in such a great place for the past 4-5 months. We laugh and joke easily but it seemed like we didn't know how to just be the two of us.
Does this happen to anyone else? How do you move through it?

Product Review - One Fifth Avenue by Candace Bushnell

One Fifth Avenue
This is middle-aged Sex in the City without the hot sexy, interesting people.
There is a bevy of writers, actors and old socialites living at One Fifth Avenue. When an old socialite dies, everyone wants her apartment, and why not, it is one of the most luxurious apartments in Manhattan.
If you are a fan of Candace Bushnell and her writing style you will not be disappointed. All the characters are under 1 swanky roof in the heart of Manhattan.
This is middle-aged Sex in the City. There is a bevy of writers, actors and old socialites living at One Fifth Avenue. Sex and the City dealt with Manolo Blahnik's, while this book deals with real estate.
I wasn’t interested in many of the characters and there were tons of them, too many to keep track of in the beginning. I had to keep going back to see who I was reading about until I learned all their names. I couldn’t wait to read about the character, writer Philip Oakland and the 20ish year old Lola. I found myself bored until their storylines. I found the characters very shallow, boring, materialistic and without morals but then again I am not a socialite from a big city. This is everyday life for some high society folks.
There is your fair share of cat fights, old money, new money, gold digging, bloggers (love that), bullies, and such. Hey, this is about Manhattan, what do you expect? If you liked Lipstick Jungle, you will love this book. There are tons of NYC references to keep the reader interested.
My only suggestion is to have a note book handy to keep track of all the names.

Product Review - BabySnazz, Babylegs Kept My Baby Warm & Adorable

I received a pair of BabySNAZZ babylegs on Wednesday and Goddess hasn't taken them off yet. She has worn them to school, to gymnastics, to ballet, and under her Halloween costume. There are so many wonderful uses for BabySnazz babylegs. I doubt she will stop wearing these until I get a few more pairs for variety. We are running out of pink, white and black options.
These can be worn over the arms or legs. They were created for crawling babies but they are wonderful legwarmers for kids on up to teens.
With the winter months coming up on us quicker than usual these are great for over the pants if you are heading going out or under if you are playing in the cold.
They have tons of colors and themes to choose from. Check these out. I have no idea which we are ordering next because we love all of them.

Week In Pictures October 26 - October 31, 2008
Join my lonely meme and create a running, photo diary of your week.
I am trying to create a legacy for my children and Photos are the best way. When I look back at my childhood photo albums I wish my mom was around to tell me the details of the photo like:
Where we were going?
What was happening?
How old was I?
Who are those people?
Scrapping is a great way because you get some photos and some journaling, but who has time for that these days?

October 26, 2008 - Here is Goddess and Handsome listening to Groovy Ruby which I reviewed this week and also am giving a copy away. So check the post out here and enter to win.

October 27, 2008 - It is a total Goddess week this week. I took her to the pet store again and she spent an hour playing with the kittens. It is very hard to walk out of there week after week without a fluffy bundle but at the $600.00 price tag it isn't impossible.

October 28, 2008 - I took my daughter to a local airport to watch the planes take off. We didn't get to see any planes take off but we did get a nice picture of the flag.

October 29, 2008 - Goddess' ballet class had a Halloween party class after class. Notice all the adorable little princess girls...mine is dressed in Pablo from the Backyardigans. It is what she wanted and asked for 6 months.

October 30, 2008 - Here is my baby girl. The boy next to her is a little guy in her gymnastics class. This is the first time I have seen a little boy that is not her brother put his arm around her. It was very sweet and I am glad I was able to capture it. He also was in front of her on the balance beam. I watched him step off, put out his hand, take hers and lead her off. Ummm hello, is that cute or what?

October 31, 2008 - Here I am with one of the trick or treaters on my block. I was dressed as Paris Hilton in prison of course. See my review on Halloween Party Store here. I had tons of bling on, a blonde wig with a tierra and I carried a stuffed white dog. No one knew who I was.

Week in Pictures - October 19, 2008 - October 24, 2008
October 19, 2008 - I had to take some shots of the beautiful autumn colors that were surrounding my home. I wish I had time to Photo Shop the wires out.

October 20, 2008 - I took the kids to one of the farms near by. We have gone every year for the past 3 years. This year we didn't end up getting pumpkins. Handsome ended up with the biggest tree (splinter) under his index finger nail on his right hand. I rushed him to the pediatricians office where the doctor tried to remove this huge green splinter. He couldn't get it out and suggested the ER so they could cut it out. I phoned a nurse friend who told me what I was hoping when I called. To just leave it alone. If it doesn't become infected, leave it alone. We have been cleaning and wrapping it waiting for the opportunity when it will be removed. Unfortunately I have had to keep him out of Martial Arts and Gymnastics for fear of him injuring his finger anymore. Hopefully it will be out before the end of next week.

October 21, 2008 - My daughter and I walked around with a camera in the morning taking random photos. This home is one of many on a block near my town. I have always been interested in it because these look like little summer bungalows that are now permanent homes. This one has so much going on outside that I can only wonder what the inside looks like. The table has a lace table cloth and candelabra on it. It is never taken off and is there rain or shine. I wish I could have taken more photos but I didn't want to trespass.

October 22, 2008 - My husband got the kids a play mat from Home Depot. It's so colorful and fun. They have been playing with their cars and Little People on it every day. I love how fun and colorful this photo looks.

October 23, 2008 - When I got home today there was a box from Tristan of Maiden America. Inside was jar of home made blackberry jam. If you want to make this girl a friend for life, send home made preserves. I have had PB&J for dinner for 2 nights. Yummy. Oh, and for all your girly, girl needs, like the most adorable hair accessories, check out Maiden America. Check out my review here.
October 24, 2008 - Sue me! I Love taking her picture. She is so expressive and she cracks me up.
