Learn To Draw Manga: Step by Step #art #manga

Publishers Weekly recently reported on a new golden age of manga in North America. Rising manga stars are currently having their spotlight moment in the publishing world, and one group in particular seems to shine above the rest. UK-based Sweatdrop Studios is an independent arts and comics collaborative. Consisting of 17 manga artists, this group creates comics for publishers, toy groups, video games, advertising agencies, comic-related events such as Comic Con, and more.

Now, the group of highly-talented manga artists have joined forces and put together the ultimate how-to guide on creating manga characters. Draw Manga: Step-by-Steps, Character Construction, and Projects from the Masters, slated for release this August 2018 from IMM Lifestyle, includes the work of the 17 artists and provides their tips and tricks for creating masterful manga artwork. Here, readers will discover what it takes to create a fully-developed manga character with exhaustive detail and personality to boot.

Goddess's Review:

There is so much information in this book. It was easy to read, follow and practice. I love how many colorful photos there were. None of it seemed complicated even if I was just starting to getting into drawing. I really enjoyed all the different styles from the various artists. I will be using this book for a long time.

The 411:

My daughter loves drawing. She has a definite style and is always trying to better herself. She loved everything about this book except for the cover. She kept mentioning that the colors alongside the drawing were not colors used in the drawing. Not something I would have noticed at all but an artists eye catches these kinds of things.

She has been having difficulty with hands and I saw her practicing them. I tried and I wish I could find the one I created because it was pretty bad.

Her favorite pages were the ones where they showed how to create movement.

She took the book to her room and has been going to it daily.  I really wish I could do this. My drawing capabilities are pathetic.

We definitely recommend this book.
