He's Been Sheared!

Oh my gosh. I don't even know who this kid is. When he asked me to make an appointment for his haircut I assumed that he wouldn't ask for it short. He said he wanted it and I figured he would change his mind. I was wrong.

All his friends have short hair and he wants to be like everyone else. So...here we are...at the hair salon and my hands are over my eyes practically. Watching the right side back of his head. My angle was perfect because when Denise the stylist was done, I was surprised. He Loves it. I Love it but it will take some getting used to. He looks like a stranger but worse than that he looks older. My little guy will be 9 tomorrow and he no longer looks like a baby to me.

When did you let your kids make their own hair decisions?

  2. Awww! It looks great, but I can understand why it would have been a little sad for you. I remember when I was first allowed to cut my hair short. I think I was twelve and it was such a huge leap of independence for me! It's really great that, even though you probably would have liked for him to keep it long, you gave him the opportunity to make one of his own first big choices. Happy Birthday to Handsome!!

    1. Thank you. I will let him read it as soon as he comes out of the shower. He loves seeing notes to him.

It was sad and I am loving his hair but he looks so much older.

  3. Wow! The haircut looks great! He does look older, and I bet he'll be much cooler when he's playing soccer! Hope he has a happy birthday today.
My daughter already makes her hair decisions; she's five. She has straight blonde hair that almost reaches her waist--I want to cut it because I am the one who has to deal with the tangles, braids, conditioning, etc. but she and her dad refuse. I think I'm going to cut it in her sleep ;)

    1. HA! Awww...sweet. Goddess also has a long hair thing. She was upset that she had to get it trimmed.

He does look older. It is freaking me out. Thanks and I will let him read it when he can. He loves notes about him.
