How Winners on Maria's Space are selected:

I always use Random.Org to select a winner.

I copy all potential winners names onto an excel spreadsheet. The reason I say potential, is because there are always commenter's who do not answer the entry question. In order to be fair to everyone who followed the directions I do not add those names to the spreadsheet.

The numbers are put into the appropriate boxes. In this case, 1-143.

I contact the winner by email for their mailing address. If I do not get an answer back after 2 email attempts I select another winner using Random again.
