Dreamworks Spirit On Netflix and Spirit Riding Toys For This Holiday Season

I received this box last week and totally fan girled for about an hour.  My daughter just stared at me as I danced around the living room after opening the box. I was way more excited than she was. I am a huge fan of horses and my daughter and I watched Spirit on Netflix Season 1. We cannot wait to catch up. Where have we been? We missed Season 2 and now Season 3 is on. We will binge watch over Thanksgiving while the boys watch Football.   Spirit is a male horse (I will get it one day.  He is so pretty that I keep thinking he is a she. Lucky is a 12 year old girl.   If you love shows about friendship, trust and if you love horses you will love Spirit.

These photos are where I told her she could look but not touch until the weekend. Homework takes a ton of her time during the week. She was not thrilled.

We made an amazing unboxing video and then showed how Spirit really eats the carrots. Seriously, Spirits swallows the carrot down into his throat as you push it in. He makes crunchy noises then you open up a little compartment under his chest where you will find the eaten carrots and you can do it all over again.

I am so sad that it is gone. My phone crashed over the past two days and I cannot recover the video or get it from Dropbox or Google Drive. It is making me crazy. We will redo a video and throw it up soon so you guys can see it.

The set is perfect for fans of Spirit or fans of dolls and horses. We loved everything about this play set and think others will feel this way too.

Hard Candy Eau de Parfums Are Sweet As Candy

The 411:

My daughter and I love wearing fragrance. Depending on our mood it could be a body spray, light perfume, body butter, or essential oils. She loves being my "twin" and always wants to match our outfits (the same colors) and our fragrance so I tend to wear lighter things these days. Hard Candy is perfect for us. The are light, sweet and never overpowering. They are what I imagine young girls and young woman wearing.

The bottles are really feminine and the cost is perfect for gift giving or treating yourself without guilt. At under $13 you get a beautiful scent in a pretty bottle.

Look you can even see all the veggies in the meat. Rocky loved it!

Rocky's momma cut a slice up into bite size pieces because he is a smaller dog and he barely let them hit the bowl.

You can see Rocky and Luna enjoy their respectable meals here and hear Rocky's mommy talk about how much she loved Fresh Pet.

What I loved about FreshPet was that like my food, the food needs to be refrigerated because it is THAT fresh. Why not give your pet the very best!?

My Kitty Takes Selfies

Apparently my cat takes selfies when I am away. Look what I found on my phone. I knew she was up to no good.

We Tried To Put Together A Scooby-Doo Bi-Plane Snaptite Model Kit

My daughter has been a Scooby fan since she was about 2 years old. I always found it so odd that a toddler was into Scooby. There was a real obsession until she was about 10 so I was excited to see what she thought about this kit.

Watch us try to put this plane together

Goddess and I think if your little one loves The Scooby Gang they will love this.

My New Fur Baby And How We Decided To Adopt

The kids and I have been volunteering at a local animal shelter since August. We love animals, pet sit for about 12-15 families over the past 6-7 years and only have a guinea pig. I wrote about why I think volunteering is important two months ago.

I had a cat for 16 years, she passed before my son was born 14 years ago and I had a dog for 12 years before my daughter was born so it is not that I am opposed to animals in the house, I just knew I wouldn't be the pet owner I should be while my kids were young.  They are now 12 and 14 and I think kids should have pets. A dog is probably a little further away but for now a cat is great. My husband wasn't ready for a while. He kept saying "No" but then last year his no changed to a "where would we put the litter box?" I thought to myself, that is not a NO!

Fast forward to us volunteering. We all have fallen in love with the cats there but how many cats can I adopt? I knew eventually there would be that one. We just needed the right cat. The end of October my daughter was holding a 7 month old cat named Chipotle after our volunteer work was done. The cat sat on her lap for over an hour. My daughter was thrilled.  I came in and she said, "Mom this cat has a mark like me and like Handsome on her face."

I looked at the cat and thought OMG...maybe this is the cat.

We left and when we came back a day later she sat with the kitten again. I placed her in my son's arms to make sure he liked her and the cat liked him. All was well. It was then I decided, YES! This is the cat!

I really wanted to surprise the kids as we have been waiting so I wanted to wait for when they weren't with me.  I asked another volunteer to put a note on the cats paper that I wanted her.

Two days later I wrote to the people in charge of the shelter and we started the paperwork however I was told they couldn't hold her and if someone wanted to adopt she would be adopted. I had just been let out of work early and thought, wait...let me not lose this cat. Every thing was lining up. The volunteer told me they would meet me and I would take her right away.

They gave me some things to get started and a cage to get her home. She was great in the cage, perfect on the ride home and when we got home she sat and purred in my lap. It was suggested that I put her in one room and let her get used to everyone then slowly give her more freedom. I had never done it this way but went along setting the 2nd bathroom up for her.

This was when I finally phoned Teach to tell him "Happy Anniversary (20 years) we have a cat!" I also called the school and asked them to have my kids ready early and why. They were so excited for us.

When I picked them up I placed Chipotle in the back of my truck so they wouldn't see her when they first got in. They were in the office when I got there and my son started complaining that I took him out before gym.  I told him that I had to take him to his dentist appointment early and made sure not to meet eyes with the office staff.

I got them out to the truck and got in. They got in and I jumped out heading to the trunk. That was when Goddess turned around to say "Happy Anniver-WHAT!?"

Laughing I walked to her side, handed Handsome a pooper scooper and her the cage. Handsome asks, "You got us a cage?" Goddess shows him the cat in the cage the whole time saying "Oh my God, Oh my God Oh my God".  The ride home was wonderful with them saying "Thank you and Oh my God!" They were so happy that they took pictures of each other.
Please meet Luna! She is so sweet, still acclimating and I love hearing her little bell jingle telling me she is close by.

The Siren Chronicals Book 1 by Douglas J. Sloan

To Purchase

The 411:

I loved this book! I honestly thought it would be just another YA Science Fiction piece but I completely into the story of 3 mermaids who were schooled to come up and deal with the human's effects on their underwater home. They are part of the last mermaid colony and the oceans are a mess and something must be done. When the girls surface they are separated and we follow each individually until they meet up again and must work together to fight against a bigger threat than any of them originally thought.

This is differently a must read and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.

Holiday Gift Guide Sticker, Draw, Style/Fashion Books

This book is created for young girls ages 5-8 but honestly my daughter and I had the best time putting this together. We laughed and talked about color, style, hair, and which outfits we wish we had.

My daughter loves art and enjoyed the pages dedicated to describing how to create your own fashion drawings especially the one about proportions which is something she is working on in her own art.

We each took a page, standing next next each other and dressed the drawn figures with the clothes dedicated for them.  We accessorized with the stickers in the back of the book and created some really stylish outfits.

If I didn't have this to review I would have surely got this for her at Christmas.

The Twisted Ones (Five Nights At Freddy's)

The 411:

Over the past 3 years my kids were so into Five Nights At Freddys. Over the past 1 year My Goddess has kinda slowed down and only occasionally plays it but my Handsome is still obsessed so I was super interested in reviewing this.

Five Nights At Freddy's is a fictional pizza restaurant where animatronics are out to kill you.  In the game you play as the security guard who must survive the night at Freddys. The game has many jump scares as does The Twisted Ones. Even though I never read the first one this book stands alone as a sequel. I was filled in enough to get through the book and really enjoy it.

I never played the game and absolutely loved this book. Charlie is the main character. Her dad owned the pizzeria and since it closed after horrific deaths by the animatronics. There is a ton of suspense and I was very entertained. I loved all of it. Not really a mystery fan but loved trying to figure it all out with Charlie. There are some frightening scenes where the animatronics are coming out of the ground and bodies are found that have been inside the animatronics but any kid who has played the game is ready for this. Jump scares is what it is about. I read it, my son was excited to read it but I got him the first one to start entitled Silver Eyes. He is loving it and I can't wait until he finishes so I can read it even though I did things backwards.

Doodling and Activity Books That Are Smart & Fun

The 411:
I love anything that can teach my artsy daughter to push her capabilities and maybe inspire her to take her art to another level. My Monster Bubble Writer definitely inspired me to try my and at a different way to write at school. We have a dry erase board in the classroom that greets the parents who drop off their kids and has a little notice about what we plan on doing. For the past two days I have changed the way I write on the board. I used big, colorful blocky letters with hair and eyes and not only are the parents taking notice but so are my 2 year old students. I think this may help them start to learn some more letters. I cannot wait to make some monster alphabet index cards for them over the weekend.

The 411:

I love the look of this book. It does feel like a scrapbook. There are 224 pages of nature inspired activities.

The books has you looking at nature in a whole new way. Everything I used to think about as a young child is here. Leaves, animals, pinecones, pebbles, shells, trees and more. I love nature and used to take time to really enjoy the world around me. In fact, even in my 30s I remember someone saying "I just see snow but you see the flowers trying to survive in it" to me. This was before kids and I try to find that passion once in a while but have to make a conscious effort to stop and see.  Hopefully this book will remind you to stop and look and really see the world around you.

This week I did leaf printing with my preschool class because of this book. I hope to sit down and do some of the activities in this book over the weekend especially these pages.

This book is great for nature lovers, doodles, thinkers or anyone who loves to draw.
