The Many Uses Of Honey and A Recipe TOO! #LRRICEHONEY

We use a ton of honey in this house.

Here are just 10 of the things we do with honey here:
Add it to our tea (every single day)
Make a drink with apple cider vinegar, honey, cinnamon and lemon that we drink (every morning)
Use it on cuts if I am out of Neosporin. It happens too often. Thank God for honey.
Use it as lip balm when my lips are dry
Mix milk and honey for a great facial mask.
Add it to my muffins instead of sugar
Make a thick cough syrup with ginger, lemon juice and honey

So I was really excited when I was asked to try Rice's Raw & Unfiltered Honey. It is yummy! My daughter and I loved the Local Great Lakes better than the Local NorthEast. We found it less sweet which works in many of our uses better but they are both amazing.
Rice has been around for 116 years.  They have a commitment to local American beekeepers and a mission to not only offer all natural raw unfiltered honey, culled from local beehives for generations, but also to help sustain the source of these wholesome sources of honey, and the viability of the local American beekeepers.

Available nationwide and online, these products offer the highest quality of honey available on the market, all locally sourced, and completely raw and unfiltered. Today, most of the honey we see is processed, robbing it of its nutritional value. All of Rice’s Honey products are raw and unfiltered, making them high in antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, and full of vitamins and minerals.

I cannot wait to try this Rice's Honey Chocolate Cake

Rice’s Honey Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
·       2 cups sifted cake flour
·       1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
·       1/2 cup butter or margarine
·       1 1/4 cups honey (one pound, if you drain the jar well)
·       2 eggs
·       3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
·       2/3 cup water
·       1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
1.     Sift flour. Add soda and salt to flour and sift again. Set aside.
2.     In a separate bowl, cream butter. Add honey gradually to butter, by tablespoons at first, beating after each addition to keep mixture thick.
3.     Add 1/4 of the flour mixture to the butter/honey mixture and beat until smooth.
4.     Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add chocolate and blend well.
5.     Add remaining flour mixture in thirds, alternately with water, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla.
6.     Spread in two greased 9 inch round cake pans. Bake in 350 degree oven about 35 minutes.
7.     Spread with a cream cheese frosting, or the frosting of your choice.
