Atkins Products Review Blog Tour

Last week I received two Atkins products to try thanks to Mom Central.

I was excited to try both products because like everyone else I am always on a quest to be healthier! Atkins, has created two pantry staples to help you help your family eat healthier.

Oh and the best part, no one knew they were eating low a low carb pasta. Who says pasta has to be avoided???

As for the All Purpose Baking Mix, enjoy all the baked foods you love, even when you're living low-carb. With Atkins All Purpose Baking Mix, you can bake delicious breads, muffins, pancakes, biscuits and even cookies. What is good about it is that you can use it in place of any recipe that calls for flour. On it's own, not so good! Add all the yummy ingredients and you've got yourself a healthier flour.

To celebrate this blog tour Atkins has announced an online recipe contest.

Submit your recipe featuring their new products, the All Purpose Baking Mix or Penne Pasta and win great prizes. Head over to Atkins.com before September 30, 2009. Good luck if you enter. Please let me know if you do, I would love to hear about it.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Atkins and received samples to facilitate my candid review. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

  1. Thanks for the review... does the pasta really taste the same? I've tried other "better for you" pastas, only to have them taste more like cardboard than real pasta. So I usually stick with my favorite - Barilla.
As for the baking mix, is it more like Bisquick or really a flour sub? I use King Arthur unbleached flour only -- I'm a snob when it comes to that! :-) But I trust your reviews, because you haven't steared me wrong yet...

  2. Lorie,

I can tell you that we devoured the pasta and I am pretty picky as a pasta eater. Pasta was a Sunday staple in my house growing up and I can tell you that I would have had no idea this was different. Could have been the amazing vodka sauce so, don't take my word for it because damn that sauce was good.

As for the baking mix. I didn't like it tasting it alone. You know the wet finger dab taste?! I only did pancakes and added all the ingredients (sugar, baking powder, salt, half and half, whole egg). If you visit the Atkins.com site there are recipes to try. There is 20g of protein and 6g of fiber in the mix though so it is worth checking out.
