Let Your Bad Self Out With These Skull Mask + Arm Tattoo Sleeves #skulled

My husband has ONE tattoo. It's a tribal thing he designed when our son was born and my son has talked about tattoos since he is about 6. He tells us all the time that on his 18th birthday he wants us to get him a sleeve tattoo. We tell him we will talk about it when the time comes and  how permanent tattoos are...AND how they can hurt.  Since he is so interested I have over the years purchased him sleeve tattoos to wear around the house which always get worn by everyone except after my husband puts them on they get stretched out. Falling down every one's arm the moment they put it on.

Two weeks ago we received this set which also came with a skeleton mask.

My family loves it and I usually see it on one of them...

My son on a video game....

The kids love the skull mask.

Goddess is small enough for her to wear them on her legs! She is dying to wear these to school.

  • ✔ Made of Polyester and Nylon

  • ✔ MAKE IT YOURS: You can wear it as a hat, a scrarf, or a face mask

We think people will like these because it can be used as a Halloween costume or just something to wear for fun!

We love how flexible it is and after two weeks it still fits all three and is not showing signs of wear and tear or being stretched out.

The mask has been confiscated by my husband. So I don't know when the kids will see that again but it was fun while it lasted. I may have to get my son another one for Christmas.

Creating a Period To-Go Kit For Girls #periodkit

My 10 year old is getting older, more mature and with the onset of puberty I know that her period is just around the corner.

She knows what it is but hates everything about it including hearing about it.  If you were to sit her down and test her she knows it is totally natural, that it is something female's including dogs, cats and some others, get one. She also knows it is the uterus lining that is coming out. What she doesn't know yet is that this means you are fertile. We have been doing baby steps for the past 5 years.

Her last doctor well visit did tell me what I already know, she is starting puberty. This typically happens between 11 and 14 with some girls going as far as 17.

How do you know if your daughter is in puberty
1. Breast Development (sometimes they hurt)
2. Hair Growth (under armpits, between their legs)
3. Vaginal Discharge (sometimes whitish and sometimes yellowish)

These are are completely normal signs.

Like a good mom, I want her to be well prepared and have been researching the best way to handle this. Here is the Period-To-Go Kit from

In the bottom of the bag Goddess will have a little pink bag which will contain.
  • Panty liners
  • Wipes
  • Underwear
  •  Disposable Bags
  • and a piece of chocolate
I want the bag to have everything she will need because she will be too embarrassed to talk to the school nurse if it happens in school and the last thing I want is for her to be humiliated about something she will  have every month.

The 411 by Maria:

This isn't just a movie about soccer but about:
  • War and the folks left waiting at home
  • Bullying, by kids and adults
  • Economics
  • Emergency Lists, always have people who will have your child's best interest at heart on the list.
  • Nurses and how patients couldn't get through their hospital stay without them
  • Perserverance
  • American Pride and how it takes one feel good story for a nation to stand together
  • Local Sport Teams and how important they are to their community
  • Jealousy
  • Remembering that everyone has a story
  • A Mother's Love
  • AND More
In Golden Shoes a boy and his mom are waiting for word on his dad who is away fighting in Afghanistan. They haven't heard from him for months but mom is doing the best she can to keep the home fire burning and being both mom and dad to her son 8 year old Christian.

Christian wants to play soccer like his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. He watches him play and wishes he could play just like him. His mom tells him he can be whatever he wants to be.

When she is injured in a car accident the person on the Emergency List, a neighbor played by Eric Roberts who is a single dad with two boys on Christian's soccer team is the guy in charge of Christian.

He brings Christian to get new "boots". Well, old, dirty, free "boots" is what he asks for. He doesn't want to spend any of his money on this boy he doesn't like.  Montel Williams plays the shoes guy and he gives Christian some muddy old soccer "boots". Christian can suddenly play like a pro and leads his team to victory after victory, getting front page news and local media coverage which catches the eye of Washington. The President swears to find this boys father and send him home!

What I loved most is wow...there are a lot of actors in this movie. Check them out here

This is a feel good movie except when you literally want to punch Eric Roberts in the face. He is so mean. This little boy's father is away and his mother is in a hospital but this guy has this kid sleeping in the basement and tries to steal his shoes every chance he gets which will also have his son's team losing. I don't get it. There was really no reason for him to be mean other than he is raising kids alone.

The other neighbor played by John Rhys Davis who starts out being crotchety ends up being Christian's "angel". I love that.

Great ending!
Great cast!

A Must See - Little Glory Time To Grow Up - REVIEW #littlegloryfilm

New from Lightyear Entertainment (, the Los Angeles and New York-based entertainment distributor of acclaimed films and music – LITTLE GLORY, an emotionally gripping coming-of-age drama – starring Cameron Bright (The Twilight Saga), Hannah Murray (“Game of Thrones”) and rising star Isabella Blake-Thomas – arrives on DVD Tuesday, September 15th in the U.S. and Canada. The film is currently available on cable video on demand in the U.S.

Two young orphans, living in economic hardship, try to survive against the odds in LITTLE GLORY, a heartwarming film about lives torn apart by fate, but held together by the strongest bond of all. When his alcoholic father suddenly dies, nineteen-year-old drop-out Shawn (Bright), decides to step up and raise his little sister, Julie (Blake-Thomas), on his own. Hoping to cash in on his dad’s life insurance policy, Shawn battles his aunt Monica (Astrid Whettnal) for custody of Julie. Unfortunately, providing for a nine-year-old proves harder than he could have imaged. Taking on everyone and everything to keep the two of them together, Shawn discovers just how important it is to be a big brother when your little sister is all you’ve got.

Told with grace and earnest, LITTLE GLORY includes powerful and moving performances by its talented, young cast. Best known for playing the role of Alec in three installments of The Twilight Saga, Cameron Bright has amassed a long list of acting credits, including co-starring turns with Robert De Niro (Godsend) and Nicole Kidman (Birth) at an early age. Most recently, Cameron has appeared in an ongoing role in the ABC crime drama “Motive” and starred opposite Abigail Breslin in Final Girl. Hannah Murray, who plays Cameron Bright’s girlfriend in LITTLE GLORY, first gained acclaim for her role in the British TV series "Skins" before starring as Gilly in HBO’s worldwide phenomenon “Game of Thrones.” LITTLE GLORY is the first feature starring role for Isabella Blake-Thomas, who has recently appeared in the Starz series “Da Vinci's Demons” and FX’s “Married.”

Directed by Vincent Lannoo (Vampires, In the Name of the Son), LITTLE GLORY had its U.S. theatrical premiere in June 2015 and was an Official Selection at the International Rome Film Festival, competing in the Alice Nella Città (Alice in the City) section that is dedicated to films for children and adolescents.

Behind the Scenes of Little Glory

The 411 by Maria:

I had no expectations for this movie. I wanted to review because I saw that someone from Twilight was starring in it so I was pleasantly surprised when the movie had my total attention.

Hands down this movie was worth my time. Stellar performances by three young actors. Cameron Bright (The Twilight Saga), Hannah Murray (“Game of Thrones”) and little Miss Heartbreaker Isabella Blake-Thomas.

Siblings 19 year old Shawn and 9 year old Julie have been living with their dad since their mom's death. Shawn is a drop out and dad is an alcoholic. Life seems pretty dreary and not getting better. When dad dies on the job, Shawn is forced to grow up fast as he prepares to fight his aunt for custody of his sister.

The movie is dark to emphasize the dreary life these kids live.  We watch Shawn struggle to fit the shoes of a responsible adult capable of caring for his sister and fight with out own feelings of what is best for her.  Julie has guilt about her parents being dead and sleeps with a toy gun to protect herself from the bad dreams she has. She needs love and attention and I spend the whole movie wanting to hold her.

Cameron Bright, a cross between Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson and Isabella Blake-Thomas (a Dakota Fanning and Abagail Breslin cross.) have my emotions running the gamut. I am happy for them. I am heartbroken. I want to punish them I want to hug them. Probably the same emotions Shawn is feeling as he does his best to grow up and be the man his sister needs him to be.  Their strong performances carried this movie and I hope many people see it!

The only part I was confused about was girlfriend, Jessica. I am not sure why she is even introduced other than to give Shawn a girlfriend that he could make out with and roll around on a bed. Or that young girls watching the movie could fantasize about having him as a boyfriend. She may be a great actress but I spent most of my time wondering why she was there.

Definitely a well done movie. I loved every moment including the soundtrack.

Why Suffer With A Cough? Arm Yourself With Throat Drops That Work

You know it's coming and if this past two weeks it passed your house, consider yourself lucky. Everyone in my town has had a nasty cough for a week or two.

Not sure if it was allergies or colds but everyone I know and working in the school system you know a lot of folks, had a nasty, annoying cough. It hit me last Thursday. I felt a sore throat Wednesday night, Thursday morning the cough was there and it is only leaving now.

This past Thursday I received a shipment of Pine Bros softish Throat Drops. It couldn't come at a better time either. I grabbed two containers and headed to work. One to two drops is all it takes to not cough my head off. As I was offering a co-worker a cough drop for the coughing fit that stopped her from working for at least 4 minutes, she grabbed two, said thank you and then wait, where did you get these. I love Pine Bros. I remember even saying to her that they reminded me of the ones I took when I was a kid but that these weren't them.

It wasn't until just now that I realized these were the cough drops I used to take when I was a kid.  They just had a different package.

Source for pic:
The Pine Bros cough throat drops as they are now being marketed as are definitely awesome. It is amazing how much better I feel after sucking on a Natural Honey or Wild Cherry drop. I love that I don't have to take a cough medicine before bed to sleep. These cough drops not only work but taste good.

They also sent along bags that I can use to refill the canisters. I haven't tried the Licorice flavor yet but might give them to the kids the next time they have a cough. I don't want them to think these are candy I know if I give them the honey or the cherry they will. They are that good.

These is a reason these drops have been around since 1870 and ranked #1 in a recent independent clinical study over all other leading brands.

Saturday Afternoon Movie: Pitch Perfect Catch Up With Goddess & Some Sour Jacks Snacks #pitchperfect2party

Yesterday Goddess and I prepared for a Pitch Perfect 2 Twitter Party by getting her up to speed with the Pitch Perfect original. I was unsure that this was a movie she should see but while planning my Pitch Perfect 2 Party a few moms were excited that their daughters would get to see the movie with us. HUH? I had no idea this was a kid movie after all it is PG13 and these girls are only 10 through 12.

After asking some moms I heard that their daughters all watched and loved the movie and that most of the jokes were well over their heads.

Goddess was excited to see it so we watched together cuddling in a chair in my living room. She thought it was good and was excited to see Anna Kendrick from "Twilight and The Cup Song video", well that is how she knows her anyway.

We headed out to a friend's house (the hosting house; so much easier for this mom with a son and husband who wouldn't want to give up the TV for a girl party) with a platter of sweets, Sour Jacks, some drinks, chips, swag and more).

When we got there the girls were really excited. They quickly put together the photo props I brought along and begged to start the movie. We kept them busy with snacks and photo ops with props.

They had a blast and loved America’s favorite mouth puckering candy, SourJacks NEW flavors: Lemonade, Wildberry & Green Apple

The candy is so fun...I had to leave the Wildberry home for handsome because he was like "I don't want those girls to eat all the candy!"

These are so good. They are sour but so good. The lemonade actually made me close my eyes but my daughter said, they are not that bad. Maybe because she eats lemons and limes for snacks.

The girls has a great time and we had a great laugh as we sang along to so many songs that the girls were left wondering how do you guys know all these songs!

Our Pitch Perfect Twitter party was a smash as were our Sour Jack Snacks! Great time, great night, great friends.
