Etsy Find - Airy Fairy Jewelry Giveaway

I look for inspiration everywhere and find that bloggers and Etsy artists are by far some of the most creative people you will meet.

While surfing Etsy the other day, I stopped upon Airy Fairy Jewelry. The name grabbed my attention at first. Looking through the virtual shop I fell in love with the jewelry. If I were to make jewelry I would want to do this.

The artist Katie was nice enough to allow me an interview

When did you start working with jewelry?
I started working with jewelry about 3 years ago, when I was a senior in high school. The first piece I ever made was a necklace made out of an old chain that came with a pair of jeans, an old earring from my sister, some colored wire and some found plastic beads. It was all rainbowy and pretty and I loved it. It was also the first thing I ever sold! See it here.

Where do you get your inspiration?
I get my inspiration from so many different places, I couldn't pin it down to one thing. Sometimes my inspiration will come from a trinket or bauble or bead itself, sometimes from nature, and sometimes from fairy lore. I am a big lover of fairies and I love to admire the beauty of nature. :)

What do you love most about what you do?
What I love most about making jewelry is the process of making it. Holding the materials in my hand, seeing the colors of the beads, and changing pieces of wire into swirly creations. I like making little pieces of art that people can wear. :)
