Saturday 9 - It's a Beautiful Morning

Saturday 9: It's a Beautiful Morning
1. Are you a morning person?  Yes I am thank you. Have always been. My kids are lucky that I am too! They wake me all night long and are up anywhere between 5:00 - 6:30 a.m.  As tired as I am, they are greeted with a smile, "Good morning" and hug every morning. They have started saying "good morning" when they wake up too. Cute.

2. Tell us of a news story that truly shocked you. Not much shocks me but I remember exactly how I felt when Princess Diana died. That really shocked me to the core. I was at the diner with my husband and the news came on. When they posted her photo with her birth and death year across the bottom, I actually stood up, saying "no". I must have been standing a while because my husband actually said, "could you sit down!"

3. What was your very first job? I worked for my Uncle Joe who also gave my mom her first job. It was a sucky job, the compute was long (a bus, the ferry, a train and 4 blocks to walk) but we shared an office with a room of young guys which made the job kinda worth it.

4. What characteristics do you despise? People who are always negative and hateful.

5. To where would you retire? Is there really such a thing?

6. Are you named after anyone? Yes, my Paternal Grandfather's mother.

7. How do you release anger? I am not easily angered so I don't really have a go to emotion.

8. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Using sarcasm the right way is a talent you are born with. I do not have it.

9. What is your least favorite thing about yourself? It used to be that I didn't really stand up for myself. Now, that I no longer care what other people think about me (it is a good place to be) it would be that I don't dedicate any time to exercising.

  1. I'm totally not a morning person. I like to be awake for at least an hour before anyone bothers me or talks to me....
I, too, was shocked by Lady Diana dying. I have British heritage, so my family was devastated. She will always be "our" princess.
My first job was the Best Western as a bus person. Funny thing is, a doctor from Texas wanted to take me home with him and his wife, put me through school, my Mom thought they were nuts and wouldn't let me go. To think of the opportunity missed.
    I hate stupid people.
Retire when I am dead. Sleep too, for that matter.
Named after my father favorite aunt. Obviously Freda.
I have anger issues. So releasing it is a chore for me.
    Sarcasm? Who me?!
I hate that I can be the biggest bitch on the planet. If you rub me wrong, I'm gonna let you know it. I wish I could have more patience with idiots.

Hope you like my post on your post. :-) Happy Valentines for tomorrow.

  3. Freda, Most people are not morning peeps. I love waking and knowing that there is the possibility of a new day.

One of my favorite Christmas ornaments is a Lady Diana ball. It was given to me by a co-worker. I think of her every time I put the ball on the tree.

Hummmm, I don't blame your momma. That is just weird. Nice but weird.

Awwww...it is nice that you were named after someone you got to know. I never met my Great Grandmother that my name came from. I wonder what she was like.

Freda, Anger issues? You? Really? I would never know.

The biggest bitch? No, I can tell you that I know quite a few and most are in my own family.

  4. I love your answers, especially the one about not caring what others think about you - you have grown so much in the time I've know you. You are amazing!
~ I am SO not a morning person and don't even try to talk to me until I've had coffee!
~ Me too about Diana - I cried so much that day. Even now when I see here children, I feel so bad for them.
~ My first job was actually 2 part-time jobs: one at Dunkin Donuts as a counter girl, the other at my girlfriend's husband's TV/radio repair shop as the "Girl Friday" (do they even use that expression any more?).
~ I cannot stand mean people - especially when it is directed to children, or men directing it to women. There is NO excuse for that!
~ Retirement: been there doing it!
~ I usually keep anger inside, which is probably why I see a shrink and am medicated. TeeHee
~ I am named after a family friend who watched my two older sisters while my mom was at the hospital giving birth to me. (Her full name was Lorelie wich my parents didn't care for - THANK GOD - but everyone called her Lori.) My dad said that the spelling "Lori" looked unfinished so he added the "e" at the end to complete the name, hence Lorie Jean Sullivan was created.
~ I am so sarcastic sometimes that it is really bad, you could even call me "catty".
~ My least favorite thing about myself is my lack of confidence - I am scared of everything.
