Sounds Of Silence

Today while passing through, I came upon a funeral for a 22 year old soldier. Pulling my car over I stepped out with my camera and find a safe spot off the side of the street which is lined with tons of people holding flags.

News people were there interviewing, police officers, service men, fire fighters, hundreds of cars and motorcycles start the procession. The sound of the bikes were deafening from my position which was of course right in front of the street.

The car holding the flag wrapped box containing the soldier went by and other than the bikes, you could hear a pin drop. It was heartwarming to see the amount of people who lined the street holding their flags, making the sign of the cross, or putting their hand over their heart. At the moment, my heart is heavy thinking of This soldiers family and wife as they say goodbye to a young man who was taken much to early.

  1. Thank you for reminding me of this. It is humbling to realize that others have died so that we can have the Freedoms that we many times take for granted.

    Love to you
