Medical Update

Well, it just keeps getting better and better. Mostly this is for my records but if you care to read, please feel free. I hate to bother you guys with this but my blog is a place for me to put what is going on in my life. Here...we go....

Just got a call from my GYNO from her car cell phone which made my heart drop for a moment.

She joked about not putting it on any bathroom walls which made me laugh and felt that maybe she was trying to cushion the blow.

I waited for the test results from the biopsy of my uterus.

She stated that it wasn't Cancer and I could relax but it was "interesting".

"The pain you endured during the biopsy and after, plus all the ailments you have been describing can all be explained. You have micro abscess in your uterine wall and both Acute and Chronic Endometritis. I want you to come in for a culture. Nothing invasive. Just a swab. I will not put you through any more pain.

You have to reschedule your colonscopy because everything down there is pretty much all connected and going in now will cause more inflammation. This infection unfortunately stems from your intestion infection. The infection is in your uterus and fallopian tubes. Unfortunately I have to figure out which antibiotic will work. You were on antibiotics for a month and those didn't work for this. I am really sorry to say this is just a continuation of your initial infection from May."

Hooray me! At least I know I am not coming up with random ailments or suddenly became a hypercondriac.

So tomorrow I have to call my GI guy and tell him I have to post-pone the colonscopy and schedule a follow up with my gyno.

  2. Endometriosis is painful. I had to go on Progesterone shots when I was 21. I had to give myself shots for a year. I had pain so bad I passed out in the parking lot at work a couple of times from it. Yet, work still gave me a hard time, and the first time they made me stay at work about three hours before they'd let me go home and the other time they made me work the whole day in wrenching bent over pain. Guess where I worked? A hospital. They didn't care and I even had the Doctor call them with what was going on with me. I had __itches as bosses.
Insert the appropriate letter before itches and you know what I mean. These were women without any compassion.
I wouldn't let the Gyno do a hysterectomy on me. He wanted to because he said it was that bad.
So instead, because I said "No" we did the year of Progesterone shots.
Now I knew doing that would put me at a higher risk of getting the big C (always can when you mess around with the hormones in a big dose way like we did), but I was lucky and didn't get any. It really did help.
Hope they get your infection all cleared up with the right antibiotic or cocktail combination of them.

  3. Oh honey I'm so sorry but if you remember, that's what I said I thought you had. I just went through the same thing and had surgery for it. I hope it will be the last one and it will be taken care of but if not then the next step is probably a hysterectomy for me. Hopefully you won't have to do that and maybe she can cauterize it like my doctor did. If you need to talk let me know. On a better note, at least it's not cancer, it isn't the best condition in the world to have but at least it is not as bad as that. Unfortunately not many people understand endometriosis and it is a serious and painful thing so I am here for you like I said before.

  4. I know it seems like nothing is coming from it all, but it seems like she (GYNO) is making progress. And upside, at least pooter won't be traumatized this time.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you always... though every so often I get a cramp.

I am so sorry that you are still in pain, but glad that they found the cause. Get well soon.

  6. I'm glad they are on the right path now, so they can get you healed and pain free!
And hey--A postponed colonoscopy: that sounds like a GOOD thing! Maybe they will even cancel it!
