It's The Little Things

Sometimes I like to take the kids out for a drink at a restaurant. Eating out is great but financially you can't do that all the time so we sometimes stop in just to sit, have a drink and chat. It is during these chats you an get a ton of information from them that you wouldn't otherwise get. There is no chewing or choking possibility to get in the way of a good conversation and it makes me so happy to spend time with the kids.

I remember as a child just wishing for a few seconds of my parents time but it never came. Kids don't need much to be happy. They simply want your time! I love giving it to them.

One of our favorite places is a little restaurant with a 50s vibe. Black and white TVs show commercials all day from before I was born and the walls are covered in cool vintage ads, 45s and car models.

We always make sure we have quarters so we can play some music.

The kids always want to sit at the counter on these really cool red stools. They always ask if we can get something to eat and more than half the time I say no but sometimes we split a french fry order.

It isn't much but they do LOVE it and that is what matter to me!

  2. Maria,

This stupid "I'm not a robot" got me.

I left a comment, but it won't take it.

In essence, I said that you are a good mom.

    Happy Blue Monday!

  3. Your children are so cute, Maria! I do know what you mean about children needing times with a parent to sit and talk and get more attention. It makes them feel so special. This looks like a fun restaurant to visit.
