Selling Beverages From Your Cart

If you enjoy working alone and want to start a business that has a minimal investment, then consider operating a beverage cart. You can take the cart almost anywhere as long as you have the proper permits and the permission from the city to take the cart on roads and sidewalks. You can also set up the cart in a mall so that shoppers will see the beverages that you offer while they are walking from store to store. This is sometimes the easiest way to make money from the business as all you have to do is advertise, make sure you have enough products to sell and wait for customers to purchase the beverages that you have.

First, you need to find a cart that can hold all of the beverages that you plan to sell. A freezer or refrigerated compartment should be attached to the cart to keep the items cold. You also need to gather all of the supplies that you need to bag the items that customers purchase or to offer free samples. Once you have all of the items that are needed to start the business, you can apply for the proper permits in the city.

After all of the paperwork is completed to start your business, you can begin searching for a location. You want to set up in an area where people can see you, such as a park or a busy mall. The advantage of a cart is that you can take it to various locations as long as you have a method of transportation. You could go to a carnival or a sporting event to sell beverages to those who are walking outside. Another option is to take your cart to a park, selling different beverages depending on the time of year. Examples would be lemonade in the summer and hot chocolate in the winter. While operating your cart, make sure you have the electrical components operating properly and enough of your supply so that you don't run out while selling. An option is to get a small storage container to keep your overflow beverages before transferring them to your cart.
