The Phantom of the Opera at The Royal Albert Hall

SYNOPSIS:  LOVE NEVER DIES The year is 1907. It is 10 years after the Phantom’s disappearance from the Paris Opera House.  He has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak-shows of Coney Island. In this new electrically-charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar. All that is missing is his love - Christine Daaé. Now one of the world’s finest sopranos, Christine is struggling in an ailing marriage to Raoul. So, it is with excitement she accepts an invitation to travel to New York and perform at a renowned opera house. In a final bid to win back her love, the Phantom lures Christine, her husband, and their young son Gustave from Manhattan, to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island… not knowing what is in store for them.

The 411 by Maria:
Goddess and I watched this over the weekend and we can't get the songs out of our head. We are both humming "Think of Me". Think of Me Think of me fondly When we've said goodbye Remember me once in a while Please promise me you'll try Goddess was in love with all parts of it. She loved the clothes, the hair the songs, the music, "Oh thank you God for giving me someone to enjoy my beloved musicals with." If you have never seen Phantom now is the time. This stage production was so beautifully done that Goddess thought it was a movie and insisted for a while that it was done on "green screen". It truly was beautiful. The scene where the phantom is taking Christine to his underworld looked like they were on a boat. The phantom and Christine are truly incredible. This production was obviously live and amazing. The camera work, set designs, music, actors, singing, incredible. I felt as if I had actually see a stage show. The Royal Albert Hall is massive and breathtaking.

The performances by Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo are so powerful that I found myself sobbing three times including the end were Sarah Brightman and previous phantoms sing. LOVED IT!
