The reason Etsy has become a huge part of my blog, is because of the excitement I get when I see something that I knew was handmade by an artist who is making the piece because they have a passion. It is amazing that how talented the people on Etsy are. The artists I have met so far, are so unique and inspiring.
My newest Etsy find is Sharlene from Stranded Treasures. Her pieces are so feminine, romantic and delicate. I love the whole Victorian feel of her designs.
I had a chance to ask Sharlene some questions, here is what she said.
Look at the color on this one.Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I live in a quaint coastal town in Florida with my husband and squishy mini cat in a little condo. I have a balcony full of flowers which I have a full view of when designing my jewelry . When I am not creating I can usually be found at the book store with my husband or talking walks around the neighborhood.
Wearing these hair pins, you don't even need to wear jewelry!Where do you get your inspiration?
Before moving to Florida, I lived in San Francisco and would spend much of my time at the local parks in the flower gardens either taking classes, volunteering or just riding my bike around. Their flower gardens are absolutely beautiful along with the city’s architecture not to mention there were tons of little boutiques where you could find lots of unique items. What do you love most about what you do?
My personal favorite is here.
I love that there is not just one thing to do. Besides the designing, I enjoy creating the packaging, marketing pieces and interacting with customers. Each sale for me is very exciting because I think how there’s another person out there that is going to wear something I made! It’s a great feeling and every sale feels that way, especially return customers. In 10 years I’d love to...
