Rock N' Roll Fridays - Nirvana

This is a new meme, let's see how it goes, shall we?

1. ALL APOLOGIES
I wish I was like you
Easily Amused
Find my nest of Salt
Everything is my fault.

Is there a very popular form of entertainment most other people enjoy that does not amuse you?

Mud Wrestling, Indy 500, and getting high. Never tried, attended, or got into any of them. However, more power to you.

2. COME AS YOU ARE
Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach, as I want you to be.
As a trend, as a friend, as an old memory. Aahhh.

What is the worst beauty or health product or regime you have ever tried?
I guess the worst was the cabbage diet that I got on with the rest of one of the offices I worked in. It was a smelly place between the hours of 11:30 and 1:30.

3. DUMB
We’ll float around
And hang out on clouds
Then we’ll come down
And have a hangover.

What is your mind-bender of choice?

As someone who doesn't really mind bend, I guess my favorite would be a Kamikaze.

4. DON’T WANT IT ALL
He had removed us
All the styles of heresy
Finally he appeared unexpectedly
Looking for the company.

Who in your family would you like to see more of?
My grandparents. I haven't seen them in 3 years. Always something. Car, illness, blah, blah,

5. HALF THE MAN I USED TO BE
I’m half the man I used to be
This feeling as the dawn
It fades to gray.

What part of your physical body has changed the most in the past 10 years?
My stomach and my tits. After two cesareans and nursing for 3.5 years of my life things are a bit stretched.

6. HEART SHAPED BOX
She has me like a Pisces when I am weak
I’ve been locked inside your heart shaped box for weeks.

Do you resemble the attributes of your birthsign?
I have a lot of hair like the Lion but I feel that is where it ends.

7. LITHIUM
Sunday morning is every day for all I care.
And I’m not scared.
Light my candles in a daze cause I found god.

If you are a spiritual person, what is your favorite ritual or part of church service?

I just like walking into a church. I like the candles and incense although I never attend.

8. RAPE ME
Hate me. Do it and do it again.
Waste me, rape me my friend.

What rebellious act have you committed?

I was never a rebellious kid. Although I did love dating long haired boys to my grandparents dismay.

9. LOVE GUN
I really love you baby. I love what you’ve got.
Let’s get together we can get hot.
No more tomorrow baby, time is today.
Girl I can make you feel okay.

What is your favorite first date activity?

Kissing!

10. SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT
With the lights out, it’s less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us.
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us.

Would you rather go to a movie, a concert, or the theater?
The Theater would be great. I haven't been in many, many years.

11. STAIN
Well he never bleeds and he never fucks
And he never leaves cuz he’s got bad luck
Well he never reads and he never draws
And he never sleeps cuz he’s got bad luck.

What are you afraid to try for fear of failure?
Writing

12. OH ME
I can’t see the end of me
My whole expanse I cannot see
I formulate infinity
And store it deep inside of me.

What will you be doing when you are 75 years old?
Hopefully breathing, walking and going to the bathroom

13. ABOUT A GIRL
I’m standing in your line.
I do hope you have the time
I do pick up number 2
I do keep a date with you.

Have you considered (or when you were single), having a one night stand?
I unfortunately had one. He was a friend and it was boring as hell. Not worth it and he was too young to make it worth it.

Sunday Stealing - The Majorly Personal Meme, Part The Last

Cheers to all of us thieves!
41. What are your plans for this weekend? To chill and enjoy the magnificent weather.

42. Do you think someone might be thinking poorly about you? Why might that be? I wouldn't think so and if they are F'm. It would be unwarranted.

42. What features don't you have that you would like on your cell? My cell phone has everything I need. Phone features aren't important to me.

43. How many people can comfortably sleep in your bed? Two. It is a King but I hate being crowded and overheated.

44. What are you hoping happens by the end of 2010? My medicals bills are taken care of by Obama.

45. What was the last video you watched on YouTube? My own. It sucked as usual.

46. Would you ever agree to an open relationship with someone? If by open, they get to sleep with someone else, No!

47. Is there something that you could never give up? I could never give up, many things. Reading, talking, breathing, sleeping, water, eating, my family and friends, everything else is completely unnecessary.

48. Would you, (or did you) prefer a small, intimate wedding reception, or a big-scale, over-the-top reception? My entire life, I wanted a very, small, intimate wedding. A backyard BBQ in my grandparents backyard, after being married at the church I attended as a child, walking to my mother's grave and leaving my bouquet. But, I ended up with a wedding that my mother-in-law wanted. She was happy! I felt alone but people still talk about the food so I guess it was worth it.

49. What’s bothering you right now? Nothing!

50. Do you hate anyone? Hate? No, I don't hate. I might despise, loath, deal with, but I don't really hate anyone.

51. What were you doing at 12 am last night? Dreaming

52. Was this summer a good one? How warm was it where you live? It was a good summer because I was with my family and friends, everyone was healthy but we didn't do much. It was stiflingly hot!

52. Is the last person you kissed before your current situation mad at you? The last person was a fucked up, douche bag who left me needing therapy. I doubt he is mad at me. If I were to contact him on Facebook he would friend me.  However, I see no reason to friend him. He was damaged than and I bet he is still damaged.

53. Can a man and woman be friends without having feelings for each other? Yes! I have feelings for many people. I easily love and worry about everyone who enters my life.

54. Do you think long distance relationships work? If you’ve had one, tell us about it. No, I have never had one. I believe anything can work if people care enough to work at it.

55. Do you know why it’s called “Random Boredom“?  Why what's called random boredom? There is no such thing as boredom as far as I am concerned. There is always something to keep you busy or involved. If you are bored it is because you aren't being honest with yourself or doing what you really want to do.

56. Do you think that it’s always the man’s responsibility to initiate sex? Oh hell no.  I often initiate.

57. Have you ever made love while you were in the same room with another couple? My sister was in the shower and her boyfriend was sleeping (or so we thought).

58. Tell us the best thing about your current or most recent S/O. He is a good man! Very intelligent and can do anything he puts his mind to.

59. Tell us the worst thing about your current or most recent S/O. He doesn't always follow the "pick your fight" philosophy I prefer.

60. Would you write one question in today’s comments so that we could have our followers allow us to steal their questions? We’ll need at least 15. If I can come up with something before next week I will.

Self Portrait Sunday - September 4 - Happy Times

Oh, my poor little meme has never quite caught on. So sad. Funny, people just don't like taking pictures of themselves but when we are old and gray and have a lot of people pictures of obscure things what then. I much prefer to think I am going to live into my Golden Years and will cherish all photos of me looking younger and full of life's promise!

Child Photographers - Through The Eyes of A Child

So, a possible meme idea cropped up today when Goddess's camera finally got another set of batteries.  She got the camera for Christmas and we never download what is on there.

Let's take a look at life through a child's eye.

First, there is a lot of Daddy!

And, loads of crazy Mommy pictures.

Then Handsome took a lot of himself...way too close, but I love the alien look (white skin, big dark eyes).

He also took a lot of pictures of the Devils playing.

So, if you have a kid who likes taking pictures, link up. I will start a link next Saturday.

Friday Fragments - School is In Session

Friday Fragments - Sept 2, 2010

Goddess and Handsome started school on yesterday. It was a very hard day for me. Leaving my baby at the school was very hard. When Handsome left for full time Kindergarten, I had Goddess from 12:00 on. Now, I pick her up with Handsome at 3:20. Such a long, weird day.

I started them off with a note in the morning on the dry erase board
IMG_3675

I had their lunches ready the night before - (can you see how nervous I am? these pictures suck!)
IMG_3676

Handsome and Goddess waiting to get in the car on their first day of school.
IMG_3682

They were dying to get in the car, the husband is waiting and I am begging them, Ok, turn around. Grr...they were hating me and the shot didn't come out great but I got it anyway.
IMG_3683

We measure them every birthday and first day of school. Handsome grew about 3 inches since his birthday in May. Crazy right?
IMG_3678

When we got into the school, each teacher's name was on a sign on the floor. The kids were to stand behind it. Goddess looked so nervous to me. It was so noisy and seemed semi-organized as new parents, teachers, aids, kids all tried to figure out where they should be. Look at my little sweet baby girl! So is so cute, my heart breaks and swells at the same time.
IMG_3705
Here is Handsome standing on line. He was totally scoping the crowd.
IMG_3696

Ok, on another note!

Was in the middle of an amazing Josh Holloway dream when Goddess disturbed my sleep waking me at a pivotal moment. I have been pissed all day.

I got an awesome email from the Lee Jeans and Mike Rowe collaboration. Please look for an awesome giveaway coming this month!

Get Into Healthy Cooking with The Help Of The George Foreman Evolve Grill

Thanks to Family Review Network, I was able to review the newest in a line of George Foreman products.

The George Foreman Evolve Grill!

We had a basic Foreman grill back in the day. We used it 4 or 5 times a year mostly when we were out of propane and needed to cook a burger. The Evolve Grill is soooooo different from that one.

First off, you can bake, grill and make muffins, waffles, eggs, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and the list goes on and on. You can literally cook, breakfast, lunch and dinner on the same kitchen appliance without turning your oven on. Perfect for the when you get that lasagna craving in the summer and don't want to heat your house up with the stove.
IMG_3721
Yeah, don't laugh at me. I truly don't know how to edit my videos so what you see is truly what you get.
Maybe one day I will figure out how to link all these little videos together.
\
In comparison to my earlier grill, you plugged it in and it turned on. You couldn't regulate the temperature. On this one you can go from 325 to 425.

With my earlier grill, I could wipe the grill clean after it was cool to touch. With this one, I can safely and easily remove the grills and clean them in water. There were so many times I had wished my earlier grill had removable grill plates. Someone was listening. It is truly one of my favorite features.

So far, we have cooked steak, hamburgers, Hot dogs, chicken and our next dish will be brownies.

Color Carnival May Have A New Home

I am not sure if you guys heard (meaning, did I write about it yet?) but I have taken over Color Carnival. Color Carnival goes up every Wednesday evening and you can post up until the next week.

As a participant of Color Carnival over the past few months, it was sad to think of only seeing those cheerful photos at the end of the week, once a month.

When I saw that Martha was looking for a new host for Color Carnival, I thought...why not?

As someone who runs two blogs already taking on a new one is a bit daunting. Martha gave me Admin rights and the blog shows up in my dashboard and seems easy enough however, I would really love to bring Color Carnival over to my blog but I also want to keep you happy. The participants of Color Carnival are really what matters. You guys make the meme!

Please let me know what you think and I will consider all suggestions. Do you prefer it kept here or can I take it over to Maria's Space where I have placed a button on the top right corner which will bring you right to Color Carnival.

Hopefully there aren't too many kinks along the way!

This week my submission is: My kids chalk toy. When I saw it up against the tree I thought, Color Carnival!

This Way Thursway - The Snake

Head over to Freda's This Way Thurs Way to play along.

These pictures are from Turtle Back Zoo from last week. We headed into the reptilian house and took these pics of the kids looking at a massive snake.

Obviously the kid wasn't in the tank but I love the way the hand reflection looks like he is holding the snake down.

Spells by Aprilynne Pike - Young Adult Book Review

What I Can Tell You:
Unfortunately, I never read Wings the prequel to Spells so I was at a bit of a disadvantage. I really wish I had read Wings first and I seriously have to get it and read it, than re-read Spells. Re-reading Spells will not be a problem at all. I absolutely loved it. Aprilynne has created a very interesting and original fantasy world. This is a bit of Harry Porter mixed with Urban fairies.

Fall Fairy Laurel travels between her two worlds, Avalon and the Human world she was raised in. At times she appears torn between her human boyfriend David and her fairy friend Tamani who understands her fairy side.

While back in the Human world, Laurel faces Trolls who want to harm her and meets Klea who says she wants to help her. Laurel isn't sure who she can trust and to be honest neither do I.

From what I read, there are two more books in this series and I will devour all of them. Very original  enjoyable ride! Great for anyone done with Vampires.

Great young adult book! 13 - 18 years old!

Memory Rewind - Last Year

Here is your chance to use some of those older photos you have on your computer that you may have forgotten about. Post a photo and write a story about it.

Join me and bring back a memory.

This picture is only from last year but it was so long ago in the scheme of my life. My Handsome was starting Kindergarten and my Goddess was still going to be home at 12:00. Tomorrow they begin a whole new school. Handsome and Goddess will be in the same building, and Goddess will be gone all day! It will literally kill me to think of my little buddy being away from me for 7 hours.

They both look so little to me in this picture. My little sweeties. I love them so much!

Color Carnival May Have A New Home

Hey everyone, my name is Maria and I run a blog called Maria's Space.

Squinkes - Toys For Kids To Go Crazy Over!

SQUINKIES little mini dolls and pet figures that were introduce this summer to rave reviews. I just heard they were sold out at my Target.

Squinkies Overview:
Squishy, squooshy, squashy and totally adorable.
Picture 183
I was given the opportunity to review Squinkies toys by Blip Toys this week. We got the box in the mail and the kids were so excited, they had never heard of them and wanted to rip open the package. Inside the package were little mini, plastic bubbles, encased inside the bubbles, the cutest mini toys ever.

There were 96 released initially with more collectible Squinkies Dolls and pets being released on a regular basis. There will be hundreds of figures to collect, trade and share.

What I Can Tell You:
For some reason although it is beyond my comprehension, kids absolutely love them. I can only imagine that that are the tiniest things ever. With perfect little details and tons of color.

I heard from one of my girlfriends today who told me that her daughter wants the playset for Christmas. Kids are definitely interested and really isn't that what makes a successful toy?

Why I like them:
They are small, don't take up a lot of space as some kid toys do.
I know for a fact, that I would have wanted to collect these if I were a kid!
You can also carry them around on your pencil and with back to school this week, my daughter will be able to take one of these with her to decorate her pencil and remind her of home.

ABC Wednesday - G

G = Game

Here is our little gamer. Handsome loves the games!
IMG_2973

G = Geese

We are live near a lake and there are always plenty of geese nearby. We need geese crossing signs to allow all the families of geese to stroll by.
