My Life In December 9 - December 14

December 9 - My car ended up back at the garage for another issue. My son was NOT happy!

December 10 - A Photo of the hand octopus I did with my class. They loved it! They came out so cute!

December 11 - It was nice to have snow while we had it! Glorious day!

December 12 - My girl and I walking around heading for the most perfect cup of Dirty Chai Tea! It was amazing.

December 13 - Awww taking a photo of my girl taking a photo of Jinxy!

December 14 - There is a Giant and a Cowboy fan in this house. There is a constant battle about which Christmas ornament should be highest on the tree. My husband makes sure it is the Giants each time. There are way more Giant's ornaments than cowboys. Does anyone else have this problem?

My Life In Pictures Nov 29 - December 8

November 29 - Just some antipasto! I do not make a large antipasto because my husband and I are the only ones who eat it and we do want to save room for Thanksgiving dinner. It is just enough for the both of us with no left overs. We prefer it that way.

November 30 - My husband doing outside Christmas decorations. I LOVE it and was so sad to see it go.  Look at my window boxes! OMG they were amazing! My husband made little Christmas villages in each one.

December 1 - Luna;'s favorite spot among our Christmas decorations. She looks like she is part of it.

December 2 - My kids started their Advent calendar countdown. My son is always on top of it each day. My daughter still has some to eat. UGH

December 3 - We love snow days! It was such a beautiful day to be off! The snow was so fluffy!

December 4 - Look at this tunnel of snow covered branches! It is so pretty but honestly I was nervous driving through it. I kept picturing branches crashing on the car.

December 5 - I have photos of my class for this date but unfortunately I didn't get permission to share.

December 6 - A Photo of Bustletown for a review post

December 7 - NADA

December 8 - Luna loves the fireplace. Who could blame her? She has the best seat in the house.

Van Suan Park

Van Suan Park

We tried another class trip last Tuesday. I was hoping and praying for a much better experience than our last class trip last October (I just spent 15 minutes looking through my older post to see if I had ever written about it but I didn’t. Probably because it was too tramatizing for both of us. He got the first beating of his life and I drove home wanting to slam my car into the first concrete pillar I saw).
Anywhoo…we met my bud Bek and her little Munchkin at the gate and ran into only 2 of the kids from class at the gate but no one after that. Interesting class trip!
It did go much better than I expected other than;
– Handsome wanted to leave 5 minute after we entered the zoo and repeated the fact for the next 60 minutes.
– Tuesday’s are free and every stay-at-home mom in the area and every school within a 120 mile radius also chose this day to enjoy the mostly elusive animals that are featured at the zoo.
– No one cared that there was a 4 year old and 2 wee ones in carriages also trying to enjoy a moment at the animal cages and thus we were mostly trambled or nudged aside while teachers tried to perform a thorough interactive experience for their class or a gaggle of unparented 9 year olds swarmed loudly as one of their cohorts screamed to come see the monkey, lion or whatnot.
Other than that it was a pleasant experience and I would love to take my kids back on another day.

Happy Father's Day 2007

Happy Father’s Day

copy-of-june-16-2007-36.jpgI would like to wish MY man a Happy Father’s Day.
Honey, I love and adore you. You are a great Daddy, husband, friend and man. You make me laugh and our children adore you. What else could I ask for?
I am amazed by you and stand by you forever and always. There is nothing you can’t do, whether making pizza, my omelets, your own Website, or doing the job of 15 in your own company you do it with humor, class and perfection. Ok, well maybe class would be a bit much but you still amaze me.
Baby, you are still the person I want to spend my time with, hang out with, talk to, and be with. We know each other for 16 years now and you are honestly the person I miss in the morning and can’t wait to see at night.
Thank you for giving me our babies. They are beautiful, sweet, funny and crazy but what else could they be with our blood coursing through their wee little veins. They were F’d from the get go.
Happy Father’s Day and congratulations to you for being in the best shape of your life. You rock!
Wanna shag baby, yeah!

Create A Connection – Box Swap

CREATE A CONNECTION

Create A Connection – Box Swap

This month Create A Connection Swap was hosted by Cheeky who decided on a Colour Swap. I was paired with Kim and Tammy. Kim sent to me and I sent to Tammy.  I receive my box last Thursday and had no idea that it was coming from Hawaii.
When I opened it I saw this

Then This

Usually I would have picked Blue but I went with something different this time. I had said pink or purple because they are such fun, girly colors. Kim sent me BOTH pink AND purple. What a thrill. I was really pissed about an auto problem I was having when I got home and found the box waiting. It immediately changed my mood. It truly was “happy mail.”
The kids had a blast with the boa and I had a blast with the LifeSavers and can’t wait to break into the book she included 101 Secrets a Cool Mom Knows.  Being that I AM A COOL MOM, I am dying to know the secrets that will totally make me well…cooler.
Thanks so much Kim. It was so much fun and I appreciate all of the little trinkets. I hope you enjoyed your box?

Tic Tac Toe

MY KIDS, PARENTING

Tic Tac Toe

playing-tic-tac-toe.jpg
BK is handing out Sponge Bob Games in their Kid Meals. Last week we went there before heading to one of the local farms in the morning. We got breakfast to go (hash brown “circle potatoes” for the kids and coffee and OJ for me). We ate, walked around and headed home.
I set the kids up on the floor and opened the Kid Meal game. I showed them how to take turns turning over the little squares and getting excited every-time someone had three in a row. After about 5 times I walked away and they played that game for about 40 minutes.
The moral of the story…Kid Meal $3.99, 40 minutes of Tic Tac Toe while Mom reads a magazine priceless.

My First Born Finished up with Nursery School Today

june-21-2007-41.jpg
So why do I feel like things are moving too fast? I mean it was only nursery school it is not like he is entering the work force. It wasn’t as emotional as I had thought it would be for me. He didn’t participate in any of the activities such as songs or taking pictures with his classmates. I would have loved one friggin picture of him with his arm around a “friend.” Oh well, maybe next year.

Goddess, if you only knew how funny you are to me. Your laugh and personality make me love you more and more everyday. You think you are so funny and witty in your little 2 year old mind that I have to wonder what kind of teenager you are going to be.
Whether looking at yourself in the mirror or me taking out the camera you are hamming it up.
Well yuck it up sweetie pie because your smile is gold and your crinkled nose and squinty eyes are camera candy and I will never stop taking your picture.  Say Cheese!

White Trash Cinema At It’s Best or Red Neck Theater You Chose

SOMETIMES IT'S ABOUT ME, THE HOFF/TEACH
Recently my husband bought home an awesome early birthday gift. I have wanted a screened-in deck ever since we purchased our home. It’s not a screened in deck but it’s the next best thing. He put it up in 2 1/2 hours, strung some lights, set it up with some chairs and a table, got the radio out and we were living it up with our cold brews as we celebrated the extension of our home. The next day he headed out and got us some outdoor carpet to complete the extension. We literally open our sliders (oh yeah which are now complete with screened door also an early B’day present), and step right into the gazebo.
We have enjoyed it much over the last week and so have the kids as they sit out here after a bath before bed which is very new to them. Once you have a bedtime bath there is no chance I am letting you outside to get dirty or be engulfed in a heavy mist of bug spray.
Last night was my favorite night thus far. My husband after seeing that there was nothing on TV decided to venture down into our collection of DVD’s. He set up a little table for my laptop (an awesome, past Birthday gift – does he give awesome gifts or what?), popped some popcorn, lit some candles, and we watched Evil Dead 2. A first for him; I might age myself but I saw this in the movies and numerous times since and still laugh during the hand scene.
Here is the gazebo during the day

And here it is at night

And here it is on a Red Neck/White Trash Saturday Night…

I know you’lll are jealous, don’t be a hater. Come on down, enjoy an older DVD on a Sony Vaio screen under the stars protected from the bugs if you want but bring your own damn chair.

Summer At The Beach

FAMILY, PRECOCIOUS SON/HANDSOME, THE HOFF/TEACH
copy-of-july-15-2007-47.jpg
After 8 years of living in a lake town we are finally LIVING in a lake town. This weekend was by far my favorite weekend yet.
july-15-2007-62.jpg
I love this picture. I love the shadow, and her little foot prints behind her still in the sand.
I started my son in swim classes 3 weeks ago figuring we live in a lake community beside the fact that the child has no fear of the water, we are only a 3 minute drive to the beach. Yes, we can walk it but yo, 2 kids, 2 coolers, towels, sand toys, umbrella, camera bag, mat for the floor, etc, etc, etc…
copy-of-july-15-2007-18.jpg
I didn’t take many pictures of Handsome today but I got a lot of video, hopefully one day I will figure out how to add it to my blog.
Yesterday I didn’t take the camera out of the bag to document anything but today we snapped some pictures.
copy-of-july-15-2007-61.jpg
This picture is so funny to me…she looks so grown here.
My kids are so lucky to live where they are and I hope to have many more weekends like this. It is so nice to get away with just my husband and kids. To see the kids having so much fun and just admiring the wonderful place we call home. Looking out at the lake it is crazy that we didn’t take advantage before this. Why didn’t we go do there with some beer and some books when we were childless? It is just plain stupid.
copy-of-july-15-2007-49.jpg
It almost feels like I am on vacation when I am sitting there just looking around or playing in the water with my kids. It is not often that the 4 of us go out as a family and it is awesome to be able to do that so close to home. We have been paying dues toward the beach for 8 years and have always hated that bill that comes in January. This January when we pay that bill I will be eagerly waiting for the warmer weather so that we can spend another summer playing in the water with the kids.
Yesterday we ran into some friends  (she is doing well BTW) who took us out on their wave runner. It was awesome and my first time. I have to admit I am a chicken shit and when she said, “come on let’s go out on the lake” I honestly wanted to say “no thanks.” I actually think I did but she didn’t seem to hear me and told me hubby that she was taking me out and her husband would take him as soon as we got back. I know my heart was pounding for the first 10 minutes. I must admit though, I had an awesome time, and it was fun. It really is a good workout too, my thighs are killing me today.
Today, my husband took Handsome out to the floating dock for some diving/jumping. Handsome was having the time of his life and I love seeing them spending such quality father/son time together. Towards the end of the day my son was doing somersaults into 8-9 feet of water with his dad. Heart in my mouth and stomach in my colon I applauded and was nauseous at the same time.
Posing after climbing some rocks
I can’t wait for my next trip to the beach with my little family and the best part is we can make it there on gas fumes if we had to.
