Adventure Time Finale September 3rd On Cartoon Network & Seasons 8, 9, And 10 on DVD September 4th #TheUltimateAdventure

They say all great things must come to an end and I guess they were right because after 8 fun filled years Cartoon Network's Emmy Award Winner Adventure Time is over.  On September 3rd at 6 PM ET/PT catch the season finale. The four-part finale has Finn (a boy) and Jake (his dog) going on their final adventure through the Land of Ooo.

Fear not though friends, you will barely have time to miss our favorite characters because on September 4th, the DVD for Seasons 8, 9, and 10 will be available wherever DVD's are sold.

My daughter and I are huge fans and with over 200 episodes under it's belt it is time to say goodbye to Finn and Jake. SOB! We were lucky enough to get a copy of "The Final Seasons" and cannot get over how good it was.  There were over 53 episodes, a 44 minute special and a plathera of bonus content like the character art gallery and more. We loved catching up and re-watching some of our greatest from the last 3 seasons. While we could have watched the last and finale episode we have decided to wait for the rest of the world and see it on September 3rd.

If you are a fan of Adventure Time this is a must have.  Princess Bubblegum, The Ice King, my favorite Marceline, Gunter, Lumpy Space Princess, Hunson, Slime Princess, Lady Rainicorn, Beemo, Fire Princess and of course Jake and Finn are some of the most colorful, interesting characters in cartoons!

BTW if you have not watch any Adventure Time, I am so jealous. You have 8 years to watch and enjoy. Binge watch NOW! This is not your typical cartoon. Get ready for a fun ride through the most thrilling post apocalyptic world ever full of great music, great stories, great characters and some of the best quotes ever:

"Sucking at something is the first step towards being sorta good at something."

"To Live life you need problems. If you get everything you want the minute you want it, then what's the point of living."

"You don't need a mirror to know you look good. You're beautiful on the inside."

Now if this is not the smartest cartoon ever I don't know what is!

Crated With Love - The Subscription Box For Your Date Night - $5 off + A Video Review

Hey everyone, I am so happy to share this with you. Crated With Love is a subscription box service that sends couples at-home date nights that focus on strengthening your relationship through activities and games to bring you closer together.

Carnival Crate came with everything you need to have a fun and memorable date or just an ice breaking good time.  We all know how important date nights are but many of us don't make time to connect with the person we love.

My husband and I are together a long time. We meet 27 years ago and got married in 21 years ago so while spending time together is important we don't always share quality time in each other's circle. A subscription box would be perfect for a couple like us as well as newly weds, those celebrating 50 years together and even as an ice breaker when you are just getting to know someone.

Games and activities which you can personalize based on your relationship profile.

Twice a week, you will receive an email that includes one Ice Breaker challenge and one Reconnect challenge.  Each Ice Breaker challenge takes about 2 minutes to accomplish and is meant to…well…break the ice! The Reconnect challenge takes about 10-15 minutes and focuses on strengthening a particular part of your relationship. They also include advice and relationship tips from experts and therapists and we will even be answering questions from our subscribers!

The biggest package is a family package called the Summer Staycation.  There is a date night box as well as a craft box for your kids. This package sells for $49.99

What I love about Crated With Love is that you can look at the old boxes and order those as well. Not reason to miss out on something you know you would have loved. Like Mission Date Night that includes a mission you will work on together.  Or Mystery Date Night containing past themes.

This is the perfect gift for yourself or for a loved one. Guys, this is the kind of present that girls love. It shows you are paying attention to her and want to be with her.

Indie Horror Fans Will Enjoy 7 Witches

The 411:

This is basically a witch movie. Lots of black, sepia, clouds, crows, Victoria dress, etc.

Here is what I know: The family has always met with persecution no matter where they have gone. They came to America because it is the land of the free but even here  things have been tough. I am assuming they were also persecuted here. There is supposedly some 100 year curse and I again need to assume that with their daughter's wedding they will perform some ritual that will turn the curse around.

Not the best horror movie I have ever seen and absolutely not the worst but since the movie has a problem really developing in story line or characters I am going to post the notes I took while watching Kate and Cody who are breaking off their engagement have met up with her dad, dad’s wife, aunt and grandpa to come to celebrate Kate’s sister Rose getting married to Agatha or Aggie as she is referred to in the movie. The wedding is taking place in Aggie’s home town. Aggie is a little different and Kate notices that Rose is dressing like Aggie even asking when she sees her finally if she is now "Amish" due to the long, black Victorian dresses the ladies are wearing.

Grandpa wanders off and Kate heads out to find him running into a Victorian clothes wearing dude who ends up being the brother of Aggie. While searching she watches someone walk into the water and never resurface.

Aggies family are interesting. They all wear black and speak of Salem.

Kate and her aunt head out to get high and come upon Aggie and Rose in the woods kissing and realize what they originally thought was a passionate moment is some weird ritual with fire and a branding iron.
There is a sex scene with Rose, Aggie and Cody with all of Aggie’s family watching in the dark of the woods.

Lots of close ups of dinner and dessert being pounded and cooked

Okay....so what I loved about it.

I really enjoyed the darkness. Lots of black, sepia, shadows, clouds, crows. The only time I noticed color was when there was red featured in the scene and Kate's jacket.

The Victorian clothing against the cloud heavy grey skies and grey water were all clues that this NOT is your normal wedding but something a little sinister and funeral like. I am not sure why I was shocked at the outcome but I was!

This isn't a film for all but if you are into Indie Horror movies this deserves a look.

Why I Like Picsart #notsponsored

Over the past week I have created more than 52 pictures using Pics Art. It is so much fun. It makes me feel creative and inspired. Insert a pic or work on other pics found on the site using your own creative juices. It feels amazing to create something that either tells a story for others or for myself. You can enter contests and hey if you win, there is the bragging rights too but mostly I am just doing it for me. The best part..it is free unless you go with the full access which I may just do.

Here are a few of my creations. Let me know if you are on so I can follow you.

This is my first...

Here is my girl as a superhero

And then there are these

Plush Fingerlings Hugs Are Adorable

The 411:

I have never checked out the original Fingerlings. I thought they were cute but for some reason my daughter never asked for one. This year the Fingerlings have gone plush and they are so cute. Called the Fingerlings Hugs they come in Pink (Bella) and Blue (Boris) and are totally interactive. The size is perfect for kids who will love holding, hugging, swinging and kissing their Fingerlings.

The sounds and voice is really cute and they have velcro hands so you can put them around your neck for a comfy hug Or just walk around wearing it like my kids have been doing this week.

You can look for the Fingerlings Hugs on my Holiday Gift Guide coming out in November.

5 Card Games To Play With Your Kids Before They Head Back To School

The next game we tried was Catch N' Fish which is such a fun add or subtract game. We did both ways and thought that kids 6+ would love this game a lot.
Each player gets 7 cards, spins and tries to make a "catch" based on the number spun. Like if you spin a 4 you would put two cards together equaling 4. 3+1, 2+2, 4+0 and so on. You can also ask your opponent if they have a card you need like Go Fish.

The last game we played was called Piggy Bank. It is an easy to learn counting game also good for ages 4+. I am not sure why we don't have picture of us playing. We must have just jumped in after the pool yesterday and were feeling tired.

We must have read the instructions 4 times before we got it. Not sure why. Maybe just tired like I said. The game was fun and easy once we started playing. Kids learn skip counting and keeping track of a running total.

Our next game, which we will be playing today after the kids finish their chores is, Monkey, May I which focuses on making good choices.

Super Me will be played on the weekend and focuses on helping others. I cannot wait to play.

Giving your children your time is one of the most important things you can do for them.

Down A Dark Hall Hits Theaters, On Demand And iTunes August 17th - My Review - Hint: I LOVED it

Welcome to Blackwood, where lost girls find their way...

The 411:

As I was getting ready to write my review I noticed that Stephanie Meyer (writer of The Twilight Saga) is one of the producers as are two other producers from the Twilight movies. I find this Interesting that it reminded me of Twilight even though it was nothing like it.

Down A Dark Hall is about a group of troubled girls sent to stay at the Blackwood Boarding School. Kit is our main girl and by far my favorite character. I remembered her face from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and Bridge to Terabithia. As paranormal things start happening to her new friends, Kit makes it her mission to figure out the secrets of Blackwood and there are many.

The movie is based on a YA book of the same name by Lois Duncan which I now feel like I need to read because the movie definitely was interesting to me. I must have loved it because I keep thinking about it.

There were times where I felt that AnnaSophia Robb went to the Kristin Stewart school of acting and that Madam Duret's son was very Edward Cullen but other than that the movie moved quick. It is the perfect 13+ Horror movie.

I cannot wait to watch it again but this time with my daughter. I think she will enjoy the paranormal part, roll her eyes at the sometimes weird girl issues but will love it just as much as I did.
