Wednesday Weirdness #55

1.) What are your least favorite sounds? Whining! I hate it (my daughter is the best at it, of course). I also hate gum chewing, dogs barking and kids screaming. The kids on my block are always screaming. Why do kids scream? Isn't blood curdling, screaming reserved for horror movies, the guy in the closet or someone trying to kidnap you? I can't tell you how many times I run to the window because of a scream. Do these kids not know the story of Peter and the Wolf?? Grrr...

2.) Do you enjoy reading infidelity blogs? Why? If you don't, is there any reason why you don't? Ummm...what is an infidelity blog? If it is about someone cheating, I don't really care what someone chooses to blog about. Blogs as far as I am concerned are very personal. If you wanted to blog about your bowel movements everyday, I say go for it. Doesn't mean I would read it but it's your blog and I am sure you will find an audience.


3.) If you could make one frivolous purchase right now without expense being an option, what one thing would you go buy? I would buy a brand new, superfast computer.


4.) Have you ever gotten drunk and then gotten behind the wheel to drive? Never. I am not a drinker and have been drunk about 3 times in my life but never was I driving. I am a boring, responsible person.


5.) As an adult, have you ever been caught having sex by someone you didn't ever want to catch you in the act? Not yet, but my kids come in all the time. Eventually they are going to be old enough to know what they walked in on. Damn C'blockers! My kids wake often, you never know when someone is going to come in.

6.) If your current significant other wound up in jail for no less than 5 years but didn't kill or physically harm anyone, would you wait for them or move on? I think this would really depend on what he is in jail for.

7.) If you had to participate, would you rather be in a mud wrestling competition or a JellO wrestling competition? The mud would be good for my skin but would burn my eyes, the Jello wouldn't hurt my contacts but would be sticky. Ummm..burn or sticky, burn or sticky. I'll take sticky please.

FOR TODAY May 11, 2009

Outside my window...It is stunning but the mayflies are biting and my children's allergies are keeping us in.

I am thinking...It sucks that my husband has to work tonight.

I am thankful for...The time we have to be together.

From the kitchen...Dinner was on the fly. Everyone had something different. It was all about the birthday cake.

I am wearing...Black shorts and a blue shirt

I am creating...Memories with my children that will last hopefully a life time.

I am going...To watch a movie once the kids go to bed then get some reading in.

I am reading...Nothing at the moment but will be starting Cloris Leachman's book tonight.


I am hoping...To just relax tonight.

I am hearing...My son's cough. His allergies are kicking his butt.

Around the house...Everything is clean and tidy.

One of my favorite things...Is having my girlfriend and her daughter come over for cake after school today.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Read, read, read, get my business cards mailed out. Make an appointment for my car. Last minute thought: Those bastards at Toyota never called me back.

Blue Monday - Birthday Smiles

Happy 6th Birthday Handsome

I started blogging in 2005. Mostly it was to keep a running journal for my children. A place for me to record my thoughts, wishes, and dreams for them. While retaining the detailed memories that we would otherwise forget unless written down.

Today my first born will be 6 years old. I cannot believe how big he is and how fast it went.

Handsome, I am so happy to be your mommy and to be honest there are times you are very lucky I'm your mommy.

You are very unique and sometimes hard to figure out but that is part of your charm.

You love Taylor Swift's song, Pictures to Burn because you get to say the word "stupid" which is a bad word in our house except to sing this song.

Star Wars has taken over your Blue's Clue phase which lasted a very long time.

This was the first birthday that I knew exactly what to get you. It was fun to shop because you were very specific. You wanted Star War toys and since you have/had none it was easy.

Your face was priceless as we opened your presents. We opened a day early because Daddy will be unavailable tomorrow.

We took you to Chili's restaurant this weekend and I had the wait staff sing happy birthday to you which confused, surprised and made you hide behind me and cry. You did not like it at all. I think it was shocking for you. It was shocking for me. I had no idea that they would come out when they did. I didn't even have my camera ready.

Handsome Is Turning 6 Years Old Tomorrow & Mother's Day

Tomorrow my Handsome boy turns 6 years old. With school, Dad's schedule and life we scheduled his celebration for today on Mother's Day. Since he was born on Mother's Day in 2003 it makes the most sense to me. Tomorrow there will be a school celebration and friends will come over for cake but today was the day of gifts and ice cream (since he won't eat cake).

The morning was great. My husband/Teach woke and asked the kids if they had wished me a Happy Mother's Day. They hadn't since they knew today was a gift day for Handsome.

All week the kids had brought home gifts for Mother's Day and I refused to open them even though they asked me everyday.

The gifts were so cute. I got one of them on Friday when his class had a Mother's Day Brunch.
Isn't this cute? In December, the teachers had asked that we send in a sneaker if the kids grow out of them. I couldn't imagine what they were going to do with the sneakers. Well, at the Mother's Day Brunch we found out. They spray painted the sneakers gold and made it a plant holder. So cute!!

Here's a picture of my Mother's Day presents minus a very special one which won't be here until May 23rd or so. In the card, my husband wrote that he is getting me a Blackberry but until he does I should enjoy "these blackberries" under that he drew some blackberries. Don't you love when they are adorable?

The little bag and the rose pin was made with his OT teacher. The heart pins were made in Preschool with clay. The green one is from Handsome and the purple from Goddess. I love them all.

Yup, there is a group called the Purex Insiders, and I say elite because there are only 200 in the country who are testing out a fun, innovative way to do laundry.

1. What is on the walls of your room? Some boring white paint, a cross, a picture of my kid, a picture of my husband, a shadow box containing my garter, flowers from my bouquet and my wedding invitation, also a collage of photos of me and my friend Steph that she gave me. Really sweet gift.

2. What type of music do you listen to? I listen to rock and country.

3. What do you want more than anything right now? To finish this meme and move on with my life.

4. Do you get scared in the dark? Sometimes, I run from a dark room into the light.

5. What's you worst fear? Losing my children.

7. What’s the meaningful gift that you’ve received? My children, flowers, laptop, and cameras all from my husband. His gifts are always very meaningful.

9. Who is your favorite celebrity? Umm...doh....I have to write his name again and feel even more stupid. I will not write his name again....just see my answer above.

10. Could you fall in love with someone that you know must leave? We can't help who we fall in love with and eventually we all have to leave so.....yup.

12. What’s your weakness? My children saying, please. My husband's strong arms. My friend's asking for help. Now for worthless weakness; anything related to Twilight

13. Do you believe that we all have a soul mate? I like to think this is true. I also like to think that you don't have just one or that it needs to be someone you are to have a romantic relationship with. Sometimes our soul mates, are friends or our children. Souls speak to each other without needing your mouth.

15. What do you get complicated about the most? Huh? Nothing! Me? Complicated? Nevah!

16. What turns you off the most from a potential partner? Potential partners are not an option now but, in the past I was turned off by bad hygiene and bad breath.

1. How many of your friendships have lasted more than ten years? I tend to hold onto my friends.

2. Which of your current friends do you feel will still be important to you ten years from now? Oh this is a seriously hard question. My friends all mean something different to me. There are the ones you call when you want to laugh, cry, need support, touch base with, they are all important for many different reasons.

3. It's Friday evening and you're planning your weekend. What's on your agenda? Nothing! Relaxing, TV, Book, or Blog
4. What was the most recent movie to scare you or give you the creeps? Well Spirit gave me the creeps for a totally different reason than this question intends.

5. Finally, the new cast and movie of Star Trek are out. Excited or indifferent? Indifferent but the buzz is good and Captain Kirk is hottie Chris Pine so I am getting excited.

6. Do you have any nervous habits? Sure, I bite my nails.

7. Do you swear in general? Not as much as I used to.

8. Do you swear on your blog? Sometimes God damn, mother**cker, Fuck U, that kind of thing.

Camera Critters - The Geese

Living near a lake has a lot of perks. One of them is that I get a lot of pictures for the Camera Critters meme.

We had some bread and walked to the gazebo. The saw us a mile away and started coming in.

It was a long way across the lake and they landed to swim a bit.
