NEW YORK, NY – OCTOBER 24, 2025 – MAMMA MIA!, the global smash hit now back on Broadway for a limited engagement, is proud to announce Girl ScoutsTM Day at the upcoming Sunday, November 16th 1:00pmmatinee performance at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway, NYC). “Super Troopers” from Girl Scouts of Greater New York and beyond are invited to enjoy the irresistible feel-good musical celebrating love, family and friendship through a variety of special ticket offers and more.

 

Girl Scouts and their families who buy show tickets using this special offer will receive an exclusive MAMMA MIA! Girl Scouts patch on performance day, and they'll get to participate in a Q&A session with cast members immediately after the show. The Girl Scouts of Greater New York are thrilled to partner with MAMMA MIA! for this special Girl Scouts Day, celebrating empowerment, creativity, and the spirit of sisterhood. Through this collaboration, Girl Scouts from across the five boroughs will experience the magic of Broadway while connecting the themes of friendship and confidence at the heart of MAMMA MIA! to their own leadership journeys. This event continues GSGNY’s legacy of inspiring girls to explore new opportunities, embrace self-expression, and build the courage, confidence, and character to make the world a better place.

Carly Sakolove, who stars in MAMMA MIA!’s Broadway cast as Rosie, shared, “Nearly three years into performing MAMMA MIA! across the country and on Broadway, my favorite scenes on stage are still the moments my character shares with her two best girlfriends, just being silly and encouraging each other through life’s highs and lows. Girl Scouts was one of the first places I remember learning the value and strength of female friendship, and I know the sisterhood we share on stage will have new meaning with an audience of Girl Scouts looking on at the Winter Garden.”

The ultimate feel-good show set to the timeless songs of ABBA, MAMMA MIA! is Broadway’s ninth-longest running show of all time, playing a record-breaking 14 years and 5,773 performances at the Winter Garden, where it opened in 2001, and then at the Broadhurst Theatre.

 

With music & lyrics by Benny Andersson & Björn UlvaeusMAMMA MIA! is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast. The production is designed by Mark Thompson, with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce & Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material & arrangements by Martin Koch.

 

The Broadway 2025 production team is also led by associate director Martha Banta, associate choreographer Janet Rothermel, and associate music supervisor David Holcenberg, along with associate designers Jonathan Allen and Brian Webb (scenic), Lucy Gaiger (costumes), Ed McCarthy (lighting), David Patridge (sound) and Jeff Knaggs (hair). 

 

Since premiering in London in 1999 and on Broadway in 2001, MAMMA MIA! is the irresistible musical that has captured the hearts of millions, seen by over 70 million people across the world, and turned into two record-breaking movies.

 

On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they had last visited decades ago. Songs including “Dancing Queen,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Money, Money, Money,” and “Take a Chance on Me” are all featured in this feel-good celebration of love, family and friendship.
