The Perfect Easter Book For Your Sweeties - WISH by Chris Sauders

”Once every year wishes take flight

filled with hope and twinkling light.
They dance in the air, with a swirl and a swish
You have to be lucky to be chosen by a wish”

Rabbit has never had a wish before; but one day he gets not just one, but three! But what should he wish for?

Wish by a touching picture book set in a glittering forest about the power of kindness and the magic of friendship. When Rabbit is granted three wishes, he cannot decide what to wish for, so he asks his friends Mouse, Fox and Bear what they would do if they had a wish. Being selfless and kind, Rabbit grants all three wishes to his friends. So what, then, is left for Rabbit to wish for?

The 411:

Wish is a beautiful book about how putting others first benefits you in even bigger ways.

While walking through the woods Rabbit sees all the wishes floating in the air and becomes the very lucky recipient of three wishes when one lands on his nose, and two on his feet. He is so excited but doesn't want to mes up his chance for the perfect wish so he asks his friends. They all have very different wishes and like a good friend he gives his wishes away. Thankfully his friends all share their wishes with him making him the luckiest of wish recipients.

I love the dandelion "wishes" floating in the air. Who doesn't think of these as wishes? Rabbit being the sweetest bunny ever shows kids that making your friends dreams come true will eventually come back around to you. Basically the lesson is being a good person benefits you in even bigger ways that you could have imagined.  In a world where everyone is so self driven reminding ourselves that how we make others feel does matter.

Kids will love the beautiful illustrations and readers will love the message.

  6. I love the message this book teaches children - it is better to give than to receive. It also reminded me of when I was a child and believed that when I blew on a dandelion and the white wisps blew around me they were meant for me to wish on.
