Five Ways to Evade Your Ex

A friend of mine just broke up with her boyfriend and he moved out over the weekend. We live in a pretty small town so when this was sent over from 20th Century Fox, I just had to share it.

An Outrageous Romantic Comedy
Arriving on Blu-ray and DVD Tomorrow as an
All-New Unrated Ex-tended Cut

Colin (Chris Evans) makes a habit of hiding out from his many former flings in Ally's (Anna Faris) apartment. This playful feature will give the top five ways to avoid interacting with your ex, including funny and creative ideas like changing your appearance, hiding at a friend's apartment, and putting a fake name on Facebook.

After reading a magazine article that insists if a woman has slept with at least 20 people that they have already missed Mr. Right, marketing executive Ally Darling begins to panic, thinking that she will be alone forever.  With the help of her hunky new neighbor Colin, Ally starts tracking down all her ex-boyfriends, hoping to find her real true love while she helps him escape his latest fling.  Hilarious hijinks and adventure ensues as Ally goes on her wild search for the best “ex” of her life, only to find what she is looking for has been right in front of her all along.

Avoid Their Hangouts

If you’re looking to avoid your ex, the first thing you must do is avoid all of their hangouts, because the last thing you want is an awkward confrontation. This includes the area in which they live, their place of employment, and bars, parks, movie theaters, etc. that you know they frequent. Why run the risk of bumping into your ex at a restaurant you know they love? On a positive note, this gives you a chance to explore new places, make new friends, and potentially find that perfect replacement for your ex.

Put a Fake Name on Facebook

If your ex is starting to enter into stalker territory, you might want to consider putting a fake name on Facebook. This is, of course, assuming that you have already un-friended your ex and limited your privacy settings. To make yourself virtually untraceable to your ex on Facebook, change your last name to your mom’s maiden name, substitute a nickname, or just make up something crazy to throw your ex off your scent. If worse comes to worse, you can always deactivate your Facebook page too.
Hide At a Friend’s Apartment

If you live near your ex, or if they’re just really persistent and keep showing up at your house, consider hiding out at a friend’s place. Not only will your ex not be able to find you, but you will also get to spend some quality time with one (or many) of your friends.  Staying with a friend is a great way to make the best out of a bad situation.

Change Your Appearance

This is starting to get a little extreme, but if you need to, you can always change your appearance in order to avoid your ex. Not only will this confuse and bewilder your ex, but it might also boost your self-esteem! You can try donning a fake moustache, dying and cutting your hair, losing or gaining weight, changing around your wardrobe or, if you have the money, getting plastic surgery.

Move Out of Town

Moving out of town should be a last resort in trying to avoid your ex, but it is always an option. Moving to a different city is pretty much a surefire way to avoid your ex, because you’re physically picking up your life and taking it elsewhere. Of course, this drastic move has many, many drawbacks, including having to find a new job, being further from your friends and/or family, having to find a new place to live, and spending a good chunk of money on moving expenses. You need to be really dedicated (or crazy) to move out of town to avoid your ex.
