Get Active! Get Strong with Strong Women, Strong Girls

I love this Get Active Series being done through Strong Women, Strong Girls! What I love the most is that Katrina talks about exercise in a fun way. The girls are leaning down to "pick up daisies", creatively coming up with their own moves and the background music is music the girls today listen to. The videos are fun and the kids are really having a good time. I wish they offered this near me. Maybe I should start one. Great way to promote good self esteem.

It’s never too late to get your child a lifelong appreciation for activities that strengthen his or her body!

Katina Taylor, (Vice President of the Jason Taylor Foundation) has created a ten-week series of video exercises to correspond with the Get Active! program. You can take a look at some here: http://swsg.org/our-program/resources/get-active/

The fact that this series is produced in partnership with Strong Women, Strong Girls gives a unique angle and maps back to a larger need to help kids get active and healthy; since the start of the program, 10,000 girls have participated!

Strong Women, Strong Girls is a nationally recognized mentoring program dedicated to raising the aspirations and self-esteem of elementary school girls. The program connects girls with college women and puts them on the path from the classroom to the boardroom—or any other path they choose to take. The program is also building a movement that creates cycles of mutual empowerment for women and girls who are committed to positive social change.
