Terro - Pantry Moth Traps - Review & Giveaway

It is time to get ready for the Spring! All across the East Coast as the temperatures go up, we are opening our doors and windows to air out the house from the very cold winter we had this year.

I love Spring but what I don't appreciate are the bugs that come along with it. We love leaving the windows open at night but this means we will be sharing our home with flying pests that don't help pay the bills. This house isn't big enough for the both of us, one of us has to go and it won't be me!

TERRO® (http://www.terro.com), the industry leader in DIY pest control products, introduces the Terro Pantry Moth Trap, a highly effective product designed to help homeowners keep grain-loving pests out of their pantries. A familiar problem for many homeowners, pantry moths are attracted to products such as whole grains, flour, cereal and dry pet food that are commonly stored in kitchen pantries. Terro’s new Pantry Moth Trap, which attracts and kills these nuisance pests, are non-toxic, pesticide-free and easy to use.

“The first sign that you have a moth infestation is usually small moths swarming around your kitchen, pantry, basement or garage,” says Stew Clark, director of Research & Development for Terro. “If an infestation is detected, place the Terro traps in areas where moths have been observed. The traps contain a powerful pheromone lure that attracts moths to the trap’s sticky surface where they get stuck and die.” Terro Pantry Moth Traps attract all common moths including grain moths, flour moths, meal moths and seed moths.

“Good housekeeping habits will go a long way in preventing a moth infestation,” adds Clark. He recommends storing dry foods in tightly sealed containers and keeping pantries clean and crumb free. “If an infestation does occur, place all contaminated food in a sealed bag and discard.”

Each Terro Pantry Moth Trap package includes two glue traps and two individually wrapped pheromone lures. Use one lure for each trap by gently pressing the lure into the center of the trap and place the trap in areas where moths have been spotted. For best results, replace the traps every three months or when the trap becomes dusty or full of moths.

What I Can Tell You:
I received these traps 4 days ago and while I can't tell you that they are working because we haven't caught anything yet, I can tell you this: They are easy to set up and have no terrible order. We love that we don't have to spray anything.

We already practice good housekeeping habits and keep all food sealed for contamination purposes and also for ant and mice purposes. This is the first winter that I didn't hear mice and found none in the garage traps.

A better test of these traps will come when we start leaving the windows and sliders open a few hours but for now with the cold, there have been no insect or flying bug problems.

In the next few weeks as it gets warmer, we will be investing in more moth traps and Terro's spider spray! I hate spiders.
