The Flannery Brothers Will Have Their Songs Buzzing In Your Head All Day

I believe in keeping my kids young for as long as possible. In the car, we listen to kid friendly music, we watch kid friendly TV shows and movies and we read the age recommendation on all toys, so when the opportunity to review the Flannery Brother's CD entitled The New Explorer Club came along, I was pyched.

Thanks to Family Review Network we have been listening to The New Explorer Club for the past two days. Flannery Brothers have a great sense of humor and know what kids like.
Who are the Flannery Brothers?

Winners of thirteen prestigious awards, including the Lennon Award for Best Children’s Song in the 2008 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, the Flannery Brothers are known for their engaging, easy-going, “jam session in our living room” style of family music.  With influences ranging from Jonathan Richman and The Beach Boys to Harry Nilsson and the Muppets, the band is dedicated to creating musical experiences that are honest, organic, fun, and respectful of kids and their families.

Responding to the overwhelming success of their first two albums, Love Songs for Silly Things and Move Over Lullabies … It’s Time for Wake Up Songs, the Flannery Brothers look ahead with great anticipation to the October 19 release of their third CD, The New Explorers Club.  The New Explorers Club invites everyone in the family to go exploring.  Filled with danceable, clappable, singable, family-friendly rock songs, The New Explorers Club enthusiastically encourages seeking adventure and viewing the world with a fresh perspective.  While songs about submarine diving, kite flying, and pirates might be expected in this context, listeners may be surprised to hear a reggae number about lying down on the kitchen floor or an exciting boogie woogie tune about swallowing a bug!

What I Can Tell You:

We have been singing about swallowing a bug for two days, in fact this song is playing in the background from Handsome's room as I type this.

This is a great CD for kid parties and classrooms. If I were still involved in Mom and Tot, this would be a great addition to the CD round up for the 3-5 year olds.

The music is fun and you can make up dances up to some of their songs, like the "Hi 5 Dance".

The words and hooks are kid friendly, the music is adult friendly.

If you decided to purchase the Flannery Brothers The New Explorers Club and your kids won't stop dancing and you can't get the songs out of your head, don't say I didn't warn you. "Stomp, Stomp, Stomp, your boots, come on Stomp your boots!"
