Before kids I used a lot of custom greeting cards and custom post cards. Cards just to say "thinking of you" or "sorry you had a bad day". Where I worked, you could leave your desk at any time, come back to a white envelope placed on your computer keyboard just for a pat on the shoulder or some warm words to get you through the day. Women are really big with little gestures of kindness and greeting cards help us make that statement.

A card can say so many things but mostly no matter what is written inside, it says, I care about you.

We all Facebook, Text, Email each other but just yesterday I went to my mailbox and found a snail mail letter from a dear friend. Inside the card was a three page hand written letter. There is nothing like that feeling of walking to the house with all the bills and junk mail in one hand and holding onto that white envelope with the other hand. You throw the bills and junk on the counter and plop down to open the card and read the personal message.

Emails and text are great because they are NOW. We all need things right now. We are spoiled, but when someone writes something loving, sweet, or sentimental in an email, we say, awwww...and maybe put it in a folder on our computer to re-read later. Later never comes and eventually it is forgotten about as we clear our computer to make room for the newer things. On the other hand, a greeting card; it gets put on the refrigerator, or on a shelf, a scrapbook or in a chest of memories. We touch it, re-read it and love it!
