In this adorable book based on Science Mommy teaches her two children Michael and Ariel how much sugar is in the foods they love by giving them 5 sugar cubes a day. They can turn in their sugar cubes for their sugary treats or hold them and receive an even bigger, better prize.
Honestly the book was very eye opening. I mean I know how to read labels and how to do right by my kids but thinking about I would so easily give my kids fruit snacks or a whole candy bar when they were younger made me realize that I never really put two and two together. My kids AND I were easily eating way more sugar than any of us should be eating. Thankfully they are not obese, don’t drink soda and aren’t sugar junkies but I can see how hard it would be if my kids were.
I think kids will enjoy the story as well as the pictures and parents will enjoy the Parent/teacher corner on each two page spread.
