Creating a Period To-Go Kit For Girls #periodkit

My 10 year old is getting older, more mature and with the onset of puberty I know that her period is just around the corner.

She knows what it is but hates everything about it including hearing about it.  If you were to sit her down and test her she knows it is totally natural, that it is something female's including dogs, cats and some others, get one. She also knows it is the uterus lining that is coming out. What she doesn't know yet is that this means you are fertile. We have been doing baby steps for the past 5 years.

Her last doctor well visit did tell me what I already know, she is starting puberty. This typically happens between 11 and 14 with some girls going as far as 17.

How do you know if your daughter is in puberty
1. Breast Development (sometimes they hurt)
2. Hair Growth (under armpits, between their legs)
3. Vaginal Discharge (sometimes whitish and sometimes yellowish)

These are are completely normal signs.

Like a good mom, I want her to be well prepared and have been researching the best way to handle this. Here is the Period-To-Go Kit from bepreparedperiod.com

In the bottom of the bag Goddess will have a little pink bag which will contain.
  • Panty liners
  • Wipes
  • Underwear
  •  Disposable Bags
  • and a piece of chocolate
I want the bag to have everything she will need because she will be too embarrassed to talk to the school nurse if it happens in school and the last thing I want is for her to be humiliated about something she will  have every month.
