Some vacation destinations are much better for children than others. If you have been searching for an ideal place to bring your children on vacation, you should think about a trip to Cleveland, Ohio. This city on the shores of Lake Erie in northeast Ohio can get very cold in the winter. Therefore, your first order of business should be to make sure you schedule your trip during the summer months. There is also the only IMAX screen in the Cleveland area, showing nature documentaries on a regular basis.

3. Greater Cleveland Aquarium

While the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo does have an aquarium, it is not nearly as large and comprehensive and the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. If your children have a particular love for sea creatures of all types, you will definitely need to make a visit to this aquarium as part of your Cleveland travel itinerary.

4. Memphis Kiddie Park

As you might gather from the name of this place, it is designed specifically for the entertainment of children. Some of the attractions you can expect to find during your visit include a small train that your kids can ride on, amusement parks rides and a miniature golf course. The Memphis Kiddie Park is recommended for children eight years of age and under.

5. The Children's Museum of Cleveland

The interactive exhibits you will encounter at his museum are designed to allow your children to learn while they are playing. Even children as young as two years old will be thoroughly stimulated by the activities that are available to them.

6. Cleveland Museum of Natural History

The natural history museum in Cleveland has the reputation of being one of the best of its kind in the country. It is an ideal place to take the entire family because there are a wide range of exhibits that are sure to fascinate people of all ages. As far as your kids are concerned, they will be stunned when they gaze upon the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Brontosaurus skeletons that are on display. There is also a complete skeleton of a mastodon and a sabre-tooth tiger. There are specific exhibits that are designed for young children, so they will not get bored.
