Cheetah Learning Launches Course Designed to Change How People Age

CARSON CITY, Nevada, (July 20, 2015) – Cheetah Learning, a leading PMI Registered Education Provider (PMI-REP)® of Project Management training, announced the launch of the Happy Aging Project. This unique program combines a ten-hour online pre-course and a two-day yoga retreat that extends and puts into action the “happy aging” principles taught in the pre-course. The Happy Aging Project is open to people of all ages, and teaches students how to adopt new habits of body and mind that allow them to age with grace, ease, and happiness.

This new course offering builds on the most recent research on brain health and performance, as well as data gathered from Cheetah Learning’s over 60,000 accelerated PMP exam prep students who experienced first-hand how valuable Cheetah’s recommended lifestyle habits are for learning. In the Happy Aging Project, Cheetah has taken many of the same activities and is teaching new students how to use them to improve how they age.

Michelle LaBrosse, CEO and Founder of Cheetah Learning, designed the Happy Aging Project after caring for her aging mother, who had brain cancer. “I realized caring for my mom when she had brain cancer how important it is to apply the principles we use to help our Cheetah students accelerate their learning. I found out the same techniques helped me cope with my life's biggest challenges,” LaBrosse said.

For LaBrosse, inspiration for becoming a certified yoga teacher came from her mother introducing her to yoga thirty years ago. LaBrosse combines her yoga skills with her expertise in accelerated learning through the Happy Aging Project. She explained, “My goal is to help people as they age learn how to use these same principles we've validated for accelerating learning through Cheetah to help them age with grace, comfort, and ease.”

A recent participant in Cheetah’s Happy Aging Project, Barb Sleeper, found that the program helped her develop new habits to lessen the stress in her life. "I had never done yoga before Cheetah's Happy Aging Project and have had several knee surgeries, so I was nervous to try yoga,” Sleeper said. “It was like a reset of my body for the last third of my life. I've had a very busy and fulfilling career as a PMP while raising my children and caring for my aging parents. Surprisingly, it covered everything on all bases that has helped me develop more presence and reduce my stress levels. I am truly much happier.”

Cheetah Learning is currently offering the Happy Aging Project for $1,200 USD, which includes the online pre-course and yoga retreat. Upcoming Happy Aging Yoga retreats in the US will take place in Haines, AK, Madison, CT, and Truckee, CA.
