Two History Inspired Games From Planet H That Will Have Kids Learning Without Even Knowing It! - FREE FOR LIMITED TIME

On the heels of HISTORY’s® successful launch of PlanetH, a brand extension created for kids ages 7-11 to explore historical topics and eras through play, A+E Networks® will be offering Frontier Heroes free for a limited time. As well, new features have been added to both Frontier Heroes and to EmpireRun.
Both Empire Run and Frontier Heroes have been updated to include new voice-overs, maps and additional historical content. Players of FrontierHeroes will be introduced to Dakota, a teenaged narrator who introduces each era with historical context and provides additional facts and timelines throughout the game.  Additionally, the main hero in EmpireRun now has a voice and is able to provide a richer set of historical content about each empire.  The updates to both games increase the amount of and accessibility to historical content and add a lot of additional fun to the gameplay.

Developed with HISTORY, Planet H provides boys and girls an animated world of fun and entertainment, and high-quality content that parents can trust. Frontier Heroes is free for a limited time and Empire Run is available for $2.99, with both games on iOS®, Android™ and Kindle Fire platforms. A third game in this series will follow later this year, with additional releases in 2015.

Planet H builds upon HISTORY’s extensive reach in the education space which includes partnerships with prestigious history education organizations such as National History Day and museums including the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.  HISTORY’s award-wining educational initiatives reach a network of over 350,000 educators, and the network’s short-form videos are featured at over 70 historic sites including Gettysburg, Pearl Harbor and the Tower of London.  HISTORY also has a partnership with global education leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, creating co-branded social studies curriculum that connects students to history through virtual experiences that are energizing, inspiring, and memorable.  Planet H extends the network’s long-standing commitment to quality, interactive educational content across platforms.

HISTORY developed Empire Run and Frontier Heroes in partnership with RED Games, a division of RED Interactive Agency. A+E Networks and RED Games teamed up previously to produce the hugely successful Battle of the Beards game for A&E’s Duck Dynasty.

The 411:

My kids are totally game obsessed and their school has learned that kids actually DO learn while playing and incorporate a lot games in their math and science homework that is actually fun and makes kids want to work. These games are right up there with what kids these days want.  If it is a game my kids will play it. We received codes to play FRONTIER HEROES & EMPIRE RUN
for our honest opinion. What I loved most about it was that my kids play without me telling them to.  The games are interesting to both. They loved the games and I loved that they were learning information about history. In order to go to another game there is a little tidbit for them to read.

In Empire Run which is my son's favorite you collect coins as your race your way through five empires.

The Maya Civilization
Ancient Egypt
Ancient Rome
The Mughal Empire
The Ming Dynasty

My son loved that he is a dreaming character who is as bored as he is in school so much so that he falls asleep studying for a history test.

He loved the fast pace of the game and doesn't feel like kids will be bored with the "fact" between the games.  He felt it was colorful and fun.

My daughter loved Frontier Heroes. She hasn't mastered the archery yet and gets frustrated but I LOVE it.

She says she does love all the mini games like panning for gold and throwing tomahawks. There are 20 challenges that keeps her very busy.

These two games kept my kids busy while I was in the ER right before the New Year and while waiting for my medications in the parking lot. It was an interesting holiday for us (more on that later) and these two games kept them happy and patient.

These games are a win-win and if your kids are going to play online, why not give them game that teach them something?!

These games are available on Amazon Apps for Kindle, In The Apple Store for iPhone, iPad, and on Google Play!
