TO COINCIDE WITH NATIONAL BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH
New York, NY (October 24, 2013)—KIDZBOP.com, the leading safe social network and video sharing site for kids and tweens, launched #SafeTextOrNoText, a campaign against cyber-bullying, in support of National Bullying Prevention Month. Beginning this October, members of KIDZBOP.com can take a stand against cyber-bullying by signing the “Bully-Free Zone” petition. Popular teen media outlet, MMagazine, is working with KIDZ BOP to power a Star Cam that offers advice from celebrities on how to combat or prevent bullying both online and within their communities.
Kids everywhere can voice THEIR opposition and bring further awareness to the issue by using the #SafeTextOrNoText hashtag when creating videos, photos, fan pages and other user-generated content on KIDZBOP.com. Members that sign the ongoing “Bully-Free Zone” petition will be directed to a Bullying Prevention Tip Sheet customized by DoSomething.org, the country’s largest not-for-profit for young people and social change.
#SafeTextOrNoText is named after the “Safe Text” functionality that filters out inappropriate content when members are posting online. This campaign is one of many KIDZBOP.com initiatives to foster a safe and fun digital environment for kids across the country.
