CARRIE ANNE & THE SCARIEST KIDS IN FILMS
Check Out House at the End of the Street
Available Now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy

The Jennifer Lawrence thriller House at the End of the Street is now out on Blu-ray today, giving us a look at one of the creepier kids we’ve seen in recent horror flicks in the shape of Carrie Anne! To celebrate the release, we’re taking a look at some of the creepy and the outright crazy company she joins in the ranks of scariest kids in film!

THE OMEN

Directed by Richard Donner (Superman), The Omen is the story of little Damien who is adopted by two loving parents who lose their first-born. Unfortunately for these two the cute little child they adopt is actually evil incarnate. Terrible twos is one thing, but the spawn of Satan waking you up in the morning, now that’s a morning routine in which you never want to take part.

ORPHAN

The tragic loss of their unborn child devastates Kate (Up in the Air, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas) and John (Peter Sarsgaard) taking a toll on both their marriage and Kate’s fragile psyche as she is haunted by demons from her past. Struggling to regain some semblance of normalcy in their lives, the couple decide to adopt another child. At the local orphanage, both John and Kate find themselves strangely drawn to a young girl named Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman)…but Esther is not what she appears to be and, concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esther’s sweet façade before it’s too late…for everyone. Not such a sweetheart after all then.....

ORPHANAGE
From producer Guillermo Del Toro, Orphanage or El Orfanato originally, is the story of a former orphan Laura who decides to reopen an orphanage for handicapped children. During the opening party, Simón (her son) calls her to show her his invisible friends’ cabin but she takes little notice. Simón disappears and Laura feels the presence of other persons in the house. After a few months the desperate Laura invites a team of parapsychologists to try to unravel the mystery. Trust me, you don’t want to play with these invisible friends.

VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED

In a small English village everybody and everything falls into a deep, mysterious sleep for several hours in the middle of the day (as you do). Some months later all women capable of bearing children become pregnant. The children that are born have blonde hair, glowing eyes and are just a little bit strange. They soon take over the village with horrific consequence for anyone who challenges them, taking the term neighborhood watch to new disturbing levels.

THE EXORCIST

The Exorcist (1973) is the story of a young girl who becomes possessed and sports one of the scariest kids you will ever witness on screen. Spinning her head, projectile vomiting and walking down the stairs on all fours are just a few of her pass-times. Cinema fans received The Exorcist apprehensively initially as some understandably found it too hard to stomach. An icon of its genre this film gave us the scary kid that all others live up to, truly disturbing.

HIDE AND SEEK

After the suicide of his wife, David Callaway (Robert De Niro) takes his mentally disturbed 9-year-old daughter, Emily (Dakota Fanning) to a new house in upstate New York. Emily begins to withdraw further, and develops a relationship with a new imaginary friend named "Charlie." As a series of vicious and mysterious events such writing appearing on the bathroom walls it seems that imaginary kids are often more dangerous than real ones.

THE RING

Rachel Keller is a journalist investigating a videotape that may have killed four teenagers (including her niece). The urban legend surrounding this tape is that the viewer will die seven days after watching it. In a moment of stupidity Rachel ends up watching the tape with her son and in doing so encourages the wrath of a girl who will literally scare you to death! Rachel faces a race against time to save her son's and her own life and stop this scary-ass girl before she takes anymore  lives.

EDEN LAKE

Stephen Taylor and his girlfriend take a weekend break to Eden Lake, a remote location in the woods. While camping at the lake, they are disturbed by a gang of young boys and by the next day the couple find themselves robbed and stranded. In an attempt to leave the pair are brutally attacked by the young gang while walking through the forest. Steve is captured but Jenny escapes, beginning a cat and mouse chase between her and the boys. This is what happens when scary kids go through puberty… Beware!
