Struggles test us all, but readers will find counsel and reassurance in these devotional stories of faith, strength, and prayer. This collection is filled with stories that show God's presence during times of trouble — from illness, addictions, job loss, grief, and much more — providing a boost and reminder of God's ever-present love. Readers will find encouragement, solace, and hope in these personal stories and prayers.

The 411:
We all need help at one time or another. Some find it by talking to others, others find it by looking inside themselves and being quiet, some find it my reading...whatever your way of finding something to get you through the hard times, there will be a story in this book that will resonate with you.

Tough times depends on what is relevant to you. Maybe it is that you can't afford to pay the cable bill this month or get your mani/padi. Perhaps it is as devastating as losing your job, your child, your spouse, your job. Who is to say what is hard for you to handle?

The book is divided into 10 sections and each story contains a bible verse at the beginning and end. This was honestly my favorite part of the book. I have always been amazed at people who can quote the bible depending on the situation. The verses correspond with the situation and really made the story more powerful.

I pray that your 2012 will be an amazing year filled with love, happiness and no tough times but since life doesn't work like that, please enter for your chance to win a copy of Chicken Soup for The Soul: Devotional Stories for Tough Times.

  1. It says in the Rafflecopter to tell you who is the recipient of the book by December 27th. Um, Maria, we have a problem there.... lol
Honestly the book would be mine. I love the Chicken Soup series, and find great comfort in them. I have had a rough year as you know, and all the help I can get, even through others stories is appreciated and accepted.
