Water For Elephants Inspired Gift Guide + Upcoming DVD Giveaway

I am in love with this movie, see my review here. Yes, I am a big Robert Pattinson fan but I really think the movie was good. Know a fan of Robert Pattinson, Water For Elephants, or Reese, what do you think about putting together a holiday gift box. Christmas is only 64 days away! Yikes!

Water for Elephants-Inspired Holiday Gift Guide

Debuting on Blu-ray & DVD on Nov. 1
Just in time for early holiday shopping comes the romantic drama of the season from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Water for Elephants. With the style and grace of the 1930s, fans of the film and book of the same name will enjoy these stocking stuffer gifts inspired by tidbits of the movie starring Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson.

Devastated by the sudden death of his parents at the height of The Depression, a young dreamer from the wrong side of the tracks, Jacob Jankowski (Pattinson), abandons his veterinary studies at
Cornell University. With no other family, no house, and no money, Jacob stows away on a train carrying the circus performers of The Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.  Hired as a veterinarian to care for the troupe’s animals, Jacob is temporarily filled with the promise of an exciting life that comes with a traveling circus troupe. However, as he builds a rapport and falls in love with the star of the show, Marlena (Witherspoon), they become prey to the circus’s owner, Marlena’s violent and abusive husband August (Waltz).

1)    Avon Red Lipstick
One thing Witherspoon’s Marlena always had were her perfectly painted red lips. With the glamour of the 1930s, a bright red lipstick, like one from Avon, is just the beginning of an elegant transformation.

2)    Louis Armstrong Album featuring “I’m Confessin’ (That I Love You)”
A pivotal scene between Marlena and Jacob happened in the speakeasy when the two romantically danced. On several occasions throughout the film, Louis Armstrong’s classic tunes lead the audience to understand the emotional undertones of the scene, and the songs are perfect for holiday playlists and parties.

3)    Whiskey
Grab your favorite brand of whiskey or bourbon and share with your friends to toast the holidays and the New Year, just like Marlena and August did for every occasion. If whiskey isn’t your poison, try Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a beer that is aged for up to six weeks in bourbon barrels, giving it the familiar flavors of oak and vanilla.

4)    Circus Tickets
Whether it’s the massive Ringling Bros. venture or a smaller local one, the circus is a great event for the entire family, including those enjoying intrigue, adventure and the animal lover in everyone. So grab a pack of family tickets for the greatest show on earth for the holiday season.

5)    Water for Elephants DVD, Blu-ray, Novel

No Water for Elephants-inspired holiday gift guide would be complete without the film or book! Water for Elephants debuts on Blu-ray and DVD November 1, just in time for the holiday season! You can purchase the novel and film at any major retailer, including Target, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
