Our family have been playing a lot more board games now that the kids are a little bit older. I love doing this as a way to spend quality time together, plus it gets them away from their electronic games and the TV. It is a great way to unplug and reconnect without the rush of the world forcing us to move quickly through life.
My niece was up for a few days so we decided to try out Hasbro's Cranium Brain Breaks. The game says there are 200 different games so we set out to play as many as possible.
I can't tell you how many times I tell the kids, I have time for 1 GAME. Which eventually turns into about 20 minutes. The reason this game is great for those moments is because you only have a minute to play? That’s all you’ll need to play CRANIUM BRAIN BREAKS!
New from the CRANIUM line is CRANIUM BRAIN BREAKS, a collection of 200 different games that can each be played in 60 seconds! The classic categories of Creative Cat, Word Worm, Star Performer and
Data Head can be found in this compact case of games, ensuring there is something for everyone.
Game Objective: Work together with other players to successfully complete as many activities as possible. See how many game cards can be collected in a row for some added excitement.
Game Play: Players draw a card from the deck and try to successfully complete the activity in the allotted 60 seconds. For example, a Creative Cat card might instruct a player to make a paper airplane and fly it through a ring made out of clay that another player constructs, and all within 60 seconds! Speed is the name of the game!
Game Features:
• 200 games in one convenient brain-shaped case (we love the shape of this game)
• Length of game play is customizable. Each game can be played in 60 seconds or less so choose the number of games you want to play and get started!
• Classic CRANIUM categories remain:
o Creative Cat
o Word Worm
o Star Performer
o Data Head
In My Honest Opinion: The game says 8 and up. We were able to play with my 6 year old as long as we read the card to her. There were a few we had to skip over because I knew the kids would never be able to do them such as:
Write a Haiku poem...ugh I can't even do this without having to explain it to my kids.
We did love these though:
Do 40 jumping jacks before the time runs out
Read 10 words out loud and see how many you can all name before the timer runs out.
Charades
We LOVED that you work together. My kids felt like big kids playing this with us. They could handle most of the challenges because we did it together.
Great way to spend some family time and have a few laughs.
It comes with 200 cards
Dice
Timer
Clay
Note Pad
and Letter cubes
Retail price is: $14.99
