Wubbzy Goes Green - DVD Giveaway

Last week I wrote about a DVD I received called Wubbzy Goes Green.

We love Wubbzy here and the whole taking care of the planet has really moved Goddess who has decided that her birthday should be a Save the Planet theme.

Young viewers and fans will give Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! a green thumbs-up when the cute and quirky bendy-tailed character from the hit Emmy Award®-winning Nick Jr.® preschool TV series goes from yellow to…green in “Wubbzy Goes Green,” an exciting, brand-new DVD featuring a bounty of adorable and Earth-friendly episodes!

To help celebrate the new release – and Mother Earth! – Anchor Bay has partnered with the Alliance for Community Trees (ACT). For every “Wubbzy Goes Green” DVD sold, Anchor Bay will donate $1 to ACT to help support the planting of trees in playgrounds and schoolyards across the country! The special tree-planting initiative “sprouts” on April 1 and continues through May 31, 2010.

And to further ”plant the seeds” of green-themed consciousness among the budding environmentalists in your family, following are some tips and cool “tree trivia” inspired by “Wubbzy Goes Green” and ACT:

*Take along washable cups or travel mugs instead of disposables.

*Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth.

*Volunteer with community organizations that plant trees like the Alliance for Community Trees! Trees make for thriving children!

In A Nutshell: Wubbzy is a great way to introduce your child to the idea of going green. If only trees grew as quick as they do in the Wubbzy DVD.  The message is great and very child friendly. How we act and what we do affects the earth and all living things on the earth. In this movie Wubbzy and the gang want to make a new playground but learn how this takes away homes for animals (in this case a bear family). They also learn about recycling and pollution. There are so many great stories in this DVD all done in a kid friendly, kid entertainment kind of way.

Thanks to Grand Central I have a DVD to give away to one of my readers.

I am glad that even cartoons are showing the importance of going green. It is very important to teach the children on how to make our way of living better. Kudos!!

  2. I learn more about going green from watching my daughter's shows than from boring shows for adults, mainly because the kid's shows focus on easy things everyone can do I guess.

  4. My parent's live on 5 acres of wooded land in the country, so we spend a lot of time walking through the woods with the little ones teaching them the value and wonder of nature. Thank you for the fun give-away.
