Amateur Book Review - The Glamorous (Double) Life of Isabel Bookbinder

I was sent a copy of The Glamorous (Double) Life of Isabel Bookbinder the by Holly McQueen. This is Holly's debut book, her maiden voyage if you will.

The cover really drew me in I think it's cute, colorful and fun.

The main character, Isabel is a dreamer. She has always wanted to be a writer and knows how she would like the book marketed all the way down to the publicity of it, "free riding crops" and her appearance," the only problem is, she doesn't have a story yet. Hard work and dedication are something that Isabel just doesn't know how to do.

When she becomes the assistant to a best selling author her dream starts to become more obtainable or so it would seem for Isabel. Top publishers are suddenly right within her reach.

After she exposes a political sex scandal her name becomes known for all the wrong reasons and her life or, her double life and her love life starts spinning out of her control.

Will Isabel get her dream? Will she ever publish a book? Will Isabel find love? To find out, you will have to read The Glamorous (Double) Life of Isabel Bookbinder.

In A Nutshell: I read this book in 3 nights. I wasn't really loving the book. I felt that Isabel was a bit eccentric, weak and delusional. She was no heroine to me. It was almost embarrassing hearing her try to talk her way through a high priced contract deal with a publisher. After hearing author Holly McQueen speak about the book, I believe I was wrong. The character was meant to be delusional and eccentric. If you like the Shopaholic series, Bridget Jones and Chick Lit, you will eat this book up.
